  • Patent number: 8188005
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a liquid composition for promoting plant growth containing titanium dioxide nanoparticles. The liquid composition contains, as an active ingredient, an aqueous solution prepared by adjusting the pH of colloidal titanium dioxide, a plant growth promoting component, to 0.4-0.6, in order to prevent rapid precipitation of the colloidal titanium dioxide, and then diluting the colloidal titanium dioxide with water to a predetermined concentration. The colloidal titanium dioxide, an environmentally friendly substance harmless to plants and the human body, which is contained in the plant growth promoting composition, is prevented from rapidly precipitating when it is diluted for application to plants. The plant growth promoting composition is harmless to organisms, reduces environmental contamination caused by over-application of biochemical fertilizers and is inexpensive, leading to an increase in farmer's income.

  • Publication number: 20050079977
Abstract: The present invention relates to a liquid composition for promoting plant growth, which contains titanium dioxide nanoparticles. The composition contains, as a main component, an aqueous solution containing titanium dioxide colloids. The titanium dioxide nanoparticles have such a particle size that they can be readily absorbed to plants. A pH of the aqueous solution is adjusted in order to prevent rapid precipitation of the titanium dioxide nanoparticles in the aqueous solution, before the aqueous solution is diluted with water such that titanium dioxide has a desired concentration. Also, the composition contains adjuvants necessary for plant growth and a surfactant for dispersion. The composition allows crop yield to be increased by increasing the photosynthetic efficiency of plants, and permits increasing the bactericidal activity of plants against plant pathogens.

  • Patent number: 5833531
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the discharge flow in an air conditioner, and a method therefor. The discharged air flow rate is adjusted in many ways, and at the same time, the air flow rate is increased or decreased in accordance with the air discharge direction so as to form a helical wind, thereby maintaining the room temperature at a constant level. An operation manipulating means inputs key signals to make the discharged air form a helical flow. A control means controls the blow direction of the blow direction vanes and the flow rate of the indoor fan to make the discharged air form a helical blow in accordance with the key signals. A blow direction adjusting means adjusts the blow direction of the discharged air by shifting the blow direction angle of the blow direction vanes under the control of the control means. A flow rate adjusting means adjusts the flow rate of the discharged air by varying the flow rate of the indoor fan under the control of the control means.
