  • Patent number: 5475295
Abstract: An electronic device is disclosed having a main body and being in communication with a remote controller capable of transmitting and receiving signals to and from the electronic device. The main body has a portable power supply and is controlled by the remote controller. The electronic device is composed of a power supply checking device that checks the status of the portable power supply when receiving a power supply checking signal from the remote controller. The remote controller has a liquid crystal display for displaying on the remote controller the status of the portable power supply in response to a status signal transmitted from the power supply checking device. Thus, the power supply status of the portable power source can easily be detected by the remote controller.

  • Patent number: 5276570
Abstract: A magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus without a need to adjust what is known as X-distance of an Audio/Control head. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a reference pulse generator, a delay control pulses generator, and a first and second delay circuits. The apparatus compares the phase of a reproduced control pulse with that of a generated reference pulse and phase-shifts the reproduced control pulse in order to synchronize both pulses. By synchronizing the pulses, the apparatus compensates for the deviation of the X-distance. Another embodiment may be implemented using a microprocessor.

  • Patent number: 5264973
Abstract: A door opening system of the present invention automatically opens or closes the front door of a household electric apparatus, more particularly, a VCR. Up to now, a conventional VCR has a disadvantage that the door opening operation is always performed manually by user. The door opening system comprises sensing means which checks the open state of a door switch or a power switch; pulse generating means which generates a switching pulse; and door opening means which opens the power portion and the front door.

  • Patent number: 5227732
Abstract: A circuit for reducing noise from a luminance signal which controls the brightness of the screen in a video apparatus such as a color TV, VCR or VDP is disclosed. The circuit comprises a gate circuit for time-chopping a noisy luminance signal by a predetermined interval, a level detector for integrating the chopped luminance signal to detect an average DC level, a clipping circuit for clipping the chopped luminance signal based on the average DC level, a subtracter for subtracting the clipped signal from the chopped luminance signal, a level shift circuit for shifting the level of the subtracted luminance signal according to the average DC level and compensating the clipped luminance level, and a low-pass filter for low-pass-filtering the level-shifted signal, to thereby restore it to an original-waveform luminance signal. Accordingly, the circuit can prevent the edge of the luminance signal from being collapsed due to noise, resulting in the output of a noiseless luminance signal.

  • Patent number: 5179446
Abstract: Radio transmitting and receiving circuits are disclosed which operate wireless without interference and where the main body of a video camera is detached from the view finder. A timing controller applied to a radio transmitting circuit inserts an encoding signal into a video signal having a predetermined horizontal synchronizing signal interval. Meanwhile, a timing controller applied to a radio receiving circuit extracts the encoded video signal and supplies it to a decoder. The decoded signal is read in conjunction with a reference code signal in a code discriminator, and the received signal is displayed in the view finder only if the codes match.
