Abstract: A method for providing customized help, the method comprising: retrieving a first help content from a first help datastore in response to a help request received from a user, the first help datastore storing a plurality of help content each associated with a respective help identifier; retrieving a second help content from a second help datastore, the second help datastore storing a plurality of help content each associated with a respective help identifier, the second help content having the same help identifier as the first help content; generating a help presentation file comprising the first help content and the second help content; wherein one the first help datastore or the second help datastore is editable by the user and the other help datastore is non-editable by the user.

Abstract: A help system tracks user search queries and builds a database by matching the user query to the user's selected result from the search system. As the user repeatedly searches, the user's terminology may be associated with particular search keywords. A relevance factor may be computed using the database for future searches. In some cases, modifications to a user interface may be made by replacing the user's terminology with a function in the user interface, or by highlighting a user's terminology on the user interface using a floating box such as a tool tip.

Abstract: A user interface of a computing system is personalized based on whether the computing system is used in a home environment, a business environment, etc. In one implementation, user interface content is stored that is defined for a plurality of consumer-usage environments, such as the home and business environment. The computing system identifies its consumer-usage environment, whether it is a home environment, a business environment, etc. The computing system then personalizes a user interface that is provided to a user based the environment in which it is being or will be used. To personalize the user interface, the computing system identifies the proper user interface content defined for the consumer-usage environment, and provides the user interface based on the proper user interface content.

Abstract: An aggregated network-wide status for computer health may be generated by calculating a network health status for each computer on the network, then aggregating the results into a single icon or status based on the worst health of all the network computers. The computer health may be presented as a pictorial map of the network with the health of each system indicated individually, or may be a matrix of each system with the particular components making up the health of the system individually presented.

Abstract: An administrative system may include a screen with several administrative functions organized by user administrative functions, storage system management, computer management, and shared resource management. The administrative system for a computer network may enable a guest account to be set up across one or more computers on the network. The guest account may have some access to shared resources as well as an expiration date so that the guest account may become disabled and/or hidden after a specific time. The guest account may be created and managed through a progressive user interface.
