  • Patent number: 7182039
Abstract: A striker mechanism 21 which clangs a bell 21 is made up of a support member 31 which projects radially outward of the bell, a striker 41 pivotably mounted on the support member so as to be rockable in a direction toward and away from the outer peripheral surface of the bell, and a leaf spring member 41 for maintaining the striker at an intermediate position as viewed in the rocking direction which is by a given distance spaced from the bell. The striker is formed at its one end with an impactor 42 which impacts the bell and an operator 43 which operates the striker for rocking motion and is formed at the other end with a spring abutment 46 against which the leaf spring member resiliently abuts, an intermediate portion between the opposite ends being pivotably mounted on the support member so as to be rockable.

  • Patent number: 6450115
Abstract: A bicycle bell with an inverted bell dome and a substantially enclosing cover. Preferably, the cover also functions to activate the bell. Alternatively, a lever actuator can be used, either in combination with the cap or as a separate element. The cover shields the bell dome from rain or other water and helps prevent the accumulation of water drops on the surface of the bell dome. The bell is adaptable to a variety of striking mechanisms but preferably uses one incorporating a gear train with a gear ration of at least 1:10 providing very rapid, long duration striking for relatively small movement by the user. The cap can be made of a transparent or semi-transparent material allowing the operation of the striking mechanism to be viewed.

  • Patent number: 5307756
Abstract: A bicycle bell has a finger actuated strike lever mounted on a rotating base. The rotating base can be rotated around the 360.degree. periphery of the ringer. Thus, the bell can be quickly adjusted for various riders or for switching from the right to the left handlebar. Additionally the present invention allows the user to choose which finger to use as well as to accommodate other equipment such as bicycle levers, etc.
