  • Patent number: 6502278
Abstract: An upright type vacuum cleaner includes a cyclone type dust collector to collect contaminants from the air that is drawn in through a suction brush. The cyclone type dust collector includes a cover, first and second cyclone receptacles, and a lower door. The first cyclone receptacle separates by centrifugal force and collects large particle contaminants. The second cyclone receptacle, disposed in the first cyclone receptacle, separates and collects minute dust and includes a grill having a plurality of fine holes, through which air from the first cyclone receptacle flows into the second cyclone receptacle. The lower door provides access to the contaminants collected in the first and second cyclone receptacles. A reverse flow prevention section is also provided to prevent a reverse flow of contaminants from the lower door.

  • Patent number: 6406505
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner includes a cleaner body, a suction brush, through which air and contaminants are drawn in, and a cyclone type dust collecting device. The cleaner body has a motor driving chamber and a dust collecting chamber in communication with the motor driving chamber. The cyclone type dust collecting device is mounted in the dust collecting chamber and separates by centrifugal force the contaminants from the air. The cyclone type dust collecting device includes a hollow cylindrical cyclone body having an open top, a closed bottom, and a contaminant outlet. The open top allows air and contaminants into the cyclone body, where the contaminants are separated from the air by centrifugation. The contaminants are then discharged from the cyclone body through the contaminant outlet.

  • Publication number: 20010052166
Abstract: An upright-type vacuum cleaner includes a cleaner body having a dust collecting chamber and a motor driving chamber, a suction brush, and a cyclone dust collecting device removably mounted on the dust collecting chamber. The cyclone dust collecting device includes a cover, first and second cyclone bodies for centrifuging and collecting contaminants entrained in the air, a lower door, and an outlet pipe. The second cyclone body includes a grill having a plurality of perforations formed therein to filter out small particle contaminants. The lower door is removably mounted on a lower end of the first cyclone body, and the outlet pipe discharges the clean air. The cyclone dust collecting device prevents a backflow of contaminants, thereby, collecting contaminants are more effectively.

  • Publication number: 20010049928
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner capable of efficiently separating and eliminating dust and dirt is provided. The vacuum cleaner including a body having open and closed spaces divided by a partition, a suction brush connecting port formed on the upper side of the body and interconnected with the open space, an interconnecting hole formed on the partition for interconnecting the open and closed spaces, a motor mounted in the closed space of the body for generating a suction force, and a dirt collecting unit detachably mounted in the open space of the body for centrifugally separating dirt and dust contained in the air sucked in through the suction brush connecting port by the motor.

  • Publication number: 20010042283
Abstract: An upright type vacuum cleaner has a cyclone type dust collector removably disposed therein. The cyclone type dust collector separates by centrifugal force and collects various contaminants from the air that is drawn into the cleaner body. The cyclone type dust collector includes an upper cover, inner and outer cyclone receptacles, and a lower cover. The air, along with minute dust and large particle contaminants, is drawn into the dust collector and induced into a vortex, whereby the dust and contaminants are separated by centrifugal force and collected. The clear air is discharged to an outside atmosphere through an outlet pipe in the upper cover. The dust collector may be removed from the cleaner body and the lower cover opened to dispose of contaminants collected therein.

  • Patent number: 5939149
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for forming substantially hydrogen free DLC layers, wherein DLC layer of thickness about 1 to 100 nanometers is deposited over a sample substrate or a field emitter array and subsequently exposed to etching plasma comprising fluorine gas, wherein during the latter step, hydrogen contained in the substrate is eliminated by chemical etching reaction with fluorine, wherein steps to form the hydrogen free DLC layer can be repeated to obtain a predetermined thickness of a DLC film.

  • Patent number: 4083614
Abstract: A method is disclosed for the fabrication of a gas panel assembly with improved static and dynamic operating margins which includes depositing arrays of parallel lines as electrical conductors on a pair of glass plates, providing a dielectric layer over the parallel lines, baking out the respective glass plates in vacuum to eliminate residual gasses or impurities, depositing a layer of electron emissive refactory material over the dielectric of the glass plate assemblies at a prescribed elevated temperature range, and spacing the glass plates a specified distance apart with their arrays substantially orthogonal. This assembly is subsequently fired in an oven to seal the glass plates about their periphery while providing a chamber therebetween, the chamber evacuated and filled with an illuminable gas, the parallel lines at one end of each glass plate exposed for electrical contact and the electrical characteristics of the panel tested after fabrication.

  • Patent number: 4018490
Abstract: An in situ process is disclosed for fabricating gas discharge display panels in a sequential seal, bake-out and backfill mode of operation. The single thermal cycle process involves placing unassembled panel parts in a controlled gas ambient furnace system with required seal frame, evacuating said furnace and backfilling with an appropriate ambient atmosphere to an appropriate pressure while heating the furnace. During the heating, the furnace is repeatedly evacuated to moderate vacuum and refilled to some predetermined pressure. The furnace is heated to just above the glass transition temperature of the seal frame in this evacuate-refill mode, then held for some time to achieve outgassing of both panel parts and furnace chamber. Thereafter, the furnace chamber is refilled to one atmosphere and further heated to complete the sealing of the panel. The panel is then cooled to approximately 300.degree.
