  • Publication number: 20070055493
Abstract: A string matching method, system, and a computer-readable medium storing instructions for determining and obtaining a representative string for a plurality of strings that are written in various manners but share the same meaning. The string matching method includes: converting the input string into one or more second-language strings with reference to a language mapping table, which stores a plurality of pieces of mapping information for mapping a first-language string to a second-language string, and generating a conversion list; searching a representative list database, which storing a plurality of records each with a representative string and a corresponding second-language representative string, for records including the same second-language representative strings as the respective second-language strings in the conversion list and generating a candidate list; and determining a representative string from the candidate list to be an output representative string.

  • Publication number: 20060239378
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for determining transmitter identification information (TII) in terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (T-DMB) system. The TII is detected by determining whether the TII occurs during the slot for a null symbol. The detected TII is stored into a TII database preferably continuously until a point of time for a TII update, and a TII detection result is output at the point of time for the TII update.

  • Publication number: 20060150066
Abstract: A digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) reception apparatus receives DMB service in a mobile communication system. In the DMB reception apparatus, a Reed-Solomon (R-S) decoder receives a coded broadcast signal and outputs an error symbol with a transport error indicator bit, if all data bits in the symbol are ‘0’. A moving picture experts group (MPEG) decoder discards the error symbol.

  • Publication number: 20060061693
Abstract: An apparatus and a method capable of receiving digital broadcasting without image discontinuity during channel switching. A digital multimedia broadcasting receiver buffers a previous channel while a new channel is buffered in a deinterleaver, thereby preventing image discontinuity during channel switching. The digital broadcasting receiver receives and deinterleaves broadcast data of a channel to be changed and stores the deinterleaved broadcast data in a buffer when a broadcast channel change is requested. The digital broadcasting receiver outputs and displays broadcast data of an initial channel stored in the buffer and stops output of the broadcast data of the initial channel and outputs the broadcast data of the channel to be changed, when the broadcast data of the channel to be changed are stored in the buffer by a predetermined buffering size.

  • Publication number: 20050047448
Abstract: A device and method for receiving digital broadcasting, and more particularly a device and method for providing digital multimedia services in a hybrid digital multimedia broadcasting receiver having a conditional access function. The hybrid digital broadcasting receiver includes a broadcast receiving module including a receiving section for receiving and demodulating a digital broadcasting data stream, a first demultiplexer for demultiplexing and extracting digital broadcasting data corresponding to a selected program, and a conditional access section for detecting conditional access information and decrypting the selected data using the detected information. The hybrid digital broadcasting receiver further includes a decoder module including a second demultiplexer for demultiplexing a digital multimedia data stream and a decoding section for decoding data output from the broadcast receiving module and digital multimedia data output from the second demultiplexer.

  • Publication number: 20040227887
Abstract: A pixel electrode is located in a pixel area defined by the intersections of the two adjacent gate lines and the two adjacent data lines, and has two linear openings extending in the transverse direction, which divide the pixel electrodes into three rectangular portions arranged in the longitudinal direction. The portions are connected in turn, and each portion of the pixel electrode has an X-shaped projection formed by the X-shaped member thereunder, and portions of the gate insulating film and the passivation film on the member. Since the gate insulating film and the passivation film are also located on the gate lines and the data lines, and the layered structure on the wires acts as peripheral projections of the pixel electrode. Each area enclosed by the projections, the openings and the peripheral projections is in a shape of equilateral trapezoid. The areas may be defined as the areas where the pixel electrode is in direct contact with the substrate.

  • Patent number: 6208405
Abstract: A liquid crystal material is injected into a liquid crystal cell while a voltage is applied to the liquid crystal cell rendering the liquid crystal molecules parallel to the substrates. The temperature of the vacuum chamber during injection of liquid crystal material is higher than the room temperature to reduce the viscosity of the liquid crystal material, and below the liquid crystal-isotropic transition temperature to maintain the liquid crystal state. To avoid the evaporation of the liquid crystal material, the temperature is preferably lower than the clearing point of the liquid crystal material. The voltage applied to the liquid crystal cell is over the threshold voltage so that the liquid crystal molecules align themselves parallel to the substrate, and the AC voltage having a low frequency of equal to or lower than 60 Hz is preferably used to make the liquid crystal material oscillate laterally.
