  • Patent number: 11618535
Abstract: A motion damping system includes a tank compartmentalized to have a first compartment having a first opening, a second compartment having a second opening, and a third compartment disposed between the first and second compartments. The third compartment is in fluid communication with the first and second openings. A first piston is movably sealed within the first compartment and is in fluid communication with its first opening. A second piston is movably sealed within the second compartment and is in fluid communication with its second opening. A liquid fills the third compartment, a portion of the first compartment up to the first piston, and a portion of the second compartment up to the second piston. A coupling fixedly attached to the first and second pistons moves in correspondence with the first and second pistons. Motion damper(s) coupled to the coupling resist movements of the first and second pistons.

  • Patent number: 11536511
Abstract: A method and system for producing liquid air wherein liquid refrigerant is cycled between two core tanks maintained at a temperature sufficient to liquify compressed air passed through condensing tubing in the interior of the core tanks. Liquid refrigerant is cycled by alternating high pressure gas from a high pressure tank to one of the core tanks, which forces liquid refrigerant from this tank through an expansion device to expand a portion of the liquid refrigerant to absorb heat in the other core tank, the resulting refrigerant gas being driven into a low pressure tank. A compression device transfers the refrigerant gas from the low pressure tank to the high pressure tank and maintains the pressure in the high pressure tank. Connections between the low and high pressure tanks and the core tanks are reversed with each cycle.

  • Publication number: 20220313310
Abstract: A tethering assembly for securing a medical device includes a shaft and a wire that extends in sliding engagement within a proximal lumen, a channel, and a distal receptacle of the shaft. A retainer zone of the shaft, through which the channel extends, stops a transition segment of the wire, which extends between a proximal and a distal segment of the wire, from moving into the shaft receptacle, thereby restraining a distal-most tip of the wire from moving through a distal-most opening of the receptacle. When a projecting member of the device has entered a secure zone of the receptacle, via movement through the distal-most opening and a tapering passageway thereof, the distal-most tip of the wire, which may be spring-biased, can move distally into the passageway so that the tip blocks the projecting member from moving distally, back through the passageway.

  • Patent number: 11454183
Abstract: A method of generating an ROI profile for a fuel injector using machine learning and a constrained/limited training data set is disclosed. The method includes receiving a first plurality of measurement sets for a fuel injector when operating at a first target set point. Preferably, at least two measurement sets of the first plurality of measurement sets are selected to generate a first averaged ROI profile for the first target condition. The at least two selected measurement sets are then used to train a machine learning model that can output a predicted ROI profile for a fuel injector based on a desired pressure value and/or desired mass flow rate value. Training of the machine learning model preferably includes a predetermined number of iterations that induces overfitting within the model/neural network.

  • Patent number: 11442632
Abstract: This application relates to load balancing for a number of partitions of a network-based storage service. Each partition includes a number of server devices and/or network devices located in a data center and configured to provide access to storage resources hosted within the data center. User accounts are assigned to a particular partition such that requests related to a particular user account are routed to that partition. Periodically, a load balancing algorithm is executed to re-assign user accounts to different partitions to rebalance resource consumption across the different partitions. The load balancing algorithm can balance resource consumption for any number of resource types by generating a vector of resource utilization parameters for each user account, sorting the plurality of user accounts into clusters based on the vectors, and mapping at least some user accounts to different partitions.
