  • Patent number: 10529186
Abstract: In various embodiments, the gaming system, gaming device, and gaming method disclosed herein includes an accumulation sequence and a competition sequence. In one embodiment, the gaming system includes competitor points which determine (i) a competitor's eligibility to participate in the competition sequence and (ii) the competitor's relative probability of success in the competition sequence. In this embodiment, a competitor (which is either representative of an actual player or a virtual, gaming system controlled player) accumulates competitor points during one or more point accumulation sequences which occur in association with designated events. For a subsequent competition sequence, the gaming system determines if a competitor will participate in the triggered competition sequence based on the competitor's accumulated competitor points.

  • Patent number: 10297108
Abstract: A gaming system and method providing a collection game independent from the primary games of a gaming system. In one embodiment, the collection game includes a plurality of elements and a winning element combination. During play of the collection game, randomly or upon an occurrence of a triggering event, the gaming system releases one of the plurality of elements to players. The gaming system repeats the process of releasing elements until one of the players collects all of the elements of the winning element combination. The first player to collect all of the elements of the winning element combination wins an award or prize.

  • Patent number: 8979641
Abstract: The gaming system and method disclosed herein provides an award to one or more players for a non-occurrence of a designated event. The gaming system monitors a plurality of games played at a plurality of gaming devices. If the designated event occurs, the gaming system resets an event counter associated with tracking the non-occurrence of the designated event. If the designated event does not occur, the gaming system: (i) increments the event counter to account for the non-occurrence of the designated event, and (ii) determines if the quantity of games played since the last event occurred at least equals a predetermined quantity of games played. If the quantity of games played since the last event occurred at least equals the predetermined quantity, the gaming system provides one or more of the players an award for the non-occurrence of the designated event.

  • Patent number: 8906635
Abstract: Methods of diagnosing Clostridium difficile infection and compounds used in the methods are provided. The diagnostic methods are specific and sensitive methods for detecting a host cell response and, in some aspects, a target response, i.e. a Clostridium difficile toxin, in an individual infected with Clostridium difficile. The methods comprise detecting in a stool specimen or fluid exposed to the stool specimen a Clostridium difficile toxin, or a fragment thereof, and an increase in a colonic epithelial cell protein exemplified by a non-muscle tropomyosin. Also provided are kits comprising reagents for detecting host cell proteins and Clostridium difficile toxins.
