  • Publication number: 20140299414
Abstract: A lubricant collecting assembly for a construction machine is disclosed herein. The lubricant collecting assembly includes a mount assembly and a tray assembly. The mount assembly includes a base portion. A first and second longitudinal walls extend from opposite sides of the base portion. The first longitudinal wall defines a mounting portion. A transverse wall extends from a first end portion of the base portion between the first and second longitudinal walls. The transverse wall defines a tab portion. A lip portion extends from a second end portion of the base portion and is of lesser height than the transverse wall. The tray assembly is removably positioned on the mount assembly and includes a first and second longitudinal side walls. The first and second longitudinal side walls define wing portions extended outwardly relative to the first and second longitudinal side walls.

  • Publication number: 20140079519
Abstract: An improved clam control mechanism for a mining shovel may offer reduced operator fatigue during excavation operations involving the simultaneous and repetitive manipulation of joysticks and switches. The control mechanism may be configured for the loading and unloading of a shovel having a clam rotatable above the shovel, and may include at least two joysticks adapted for a variety of tasks including fore and aft movements, and angular rotation of the shovel. At least one switch may be adapted for moving the clam automatically between fully open and fully closed positions, such that when the switch is briefly pressed a first way, the clam automatically fully opens, and when a switch is briefly pressed a second way, the clam automatically fully closes. On the other hand, if the switch is briefly pressed during either automatic opening or closing of the clam, any movement of the clam may be immediately halted.

  • Patent number: 8437920
Abstract: The operator of a excavator sits in a seat that has a one computer monitor on the left side and another computer monitor on the right side. A control system produces first and second sets of information regarding operation of the excavator with the first set of information being particularly relevant to the digging operation. The selection of which computer monitor displays which of the first and second sets of information depends on a direction that the excavator swings between a digging site and a dumping site and that selection changes as the direction changes. This presents the first set of information on the computer monitor that is easily observable by the excavator operator during the digging operation.
