  • Publication number: 20240143102
Abstract: A propagating signal is propagated through a propagating medium to a plurality of receivers coupled to the propagating medium. A signal affected by a disturbance of the propagating medium is received. The received signal includes a signal portion that corresponds to the propagating signal that has been disturbed by the disturbance. At least a portion of a version of the signal portion of the received signal that corresponds to the propagating signal that has been disturbed by the disturbance is compared with one or more reference signal signatures of one or more disturbance types. Based at least in part on the comparison, it is determined that one of the one or more disturbance types corresponds to the disturbance of propagating medium.

  • Publication number: 20210294457
Abstract: A system includes a physical disturbance sensor, a transmitter and a signal receiver. The physical disturbance sensor is coupled to a first medium. The transmitter is configured to send a signal to the physical disturbance sensor. The first medium is coupled to a second medium by an adhesive interface. At least a portion of the adhesive interface is between the first medium and the second medium. The signal receiver is electrically connected to the physical disturbance sensor and configured to receive a received signal from the physical disturbance sensor. The received signal from the physical disturbance sensor is correlated with the signal in determining a measure of a physical disturbance to the second medium that causes a change in the adhesive interface.

  • Patent number: 11061510
Abstract: A propagating signal transmitted through a propagating medium is received where a detected disturbance to a signal property of the propagating signal is analyzed to detect whether a touch input has been provided. It is determined whether the detected disturbance matches a signature and in the event it is determined that the detected disturbance matches the signature, it is determined that the detected disturbance does not correspond to the touch input.

  • Patent number: 10908741
Abstract: A touch input is detected. From a plurality of transmitters coupled to a propagating medium, propagating signals are emitted through the propagating medium. At a plurality of receivers coupled to the propagating medium, one or more of the propagating signals that have been disturbed by the touch input are received. The plurality of transmitters and the plurality of receivers are coupled to the propagating medium on an internal side of a device sidewall. One or more detected propagating signals that have been disturbed by the touch input are analyzed to identify the touch input on an external surface of the device sidewall.
