  • Publication number: 20200286412
Abstract: A vehicle display system is able to integrate with a license plate holder and replace a license plate to digitally display a name, phrase, logo, or other image. A series of light-emitting diodes may be arrayed across a plate and may be in communication with a digital controller. The controller and the diodes may be powered by the vehicle's electrical systems and may communicate wireless with an external device. In this way, the controller may cause the diodes to display an image which may be energized, deenergized, and customized by the user utilizing the external device. The diodes are encased by a thick lens which draws out the image of the lighted diodes into a three-dimensional hologram, providing depth and visibility to the image.

  • Publication number: 20170096827
Abstract: A hose adapter for use in an automated pool cleaning system is provided. The adapter attaches at one end to the outlet of a dedicated water return line in a swimming pool and at an opposite end to a pool cleaner hose. The adapter has an extension arm that secures the hose at an elevated position above the water return line. By elevating the hose, the adapter prevents kinking and tangling in the hose so that the automated cleaning system operates more effectively.

  • Patent number: 8450951
Abstract: A system to regulate gyrotron power is configured to raise the filament voltage of a gyrotron to a standby voltage, then set the filament voltage to the normal standby voltage plus a current offset voltage before pulsing the gyrotron. The system is further configured to increase the filament voltage to a boost voltage that is higher than the standby voltage, thereby inducing a temperature increase in the cathode that offsets the cooling effect of radiating. The system is also configured to analyze a beam power of the gyrotron and adjust the filament voltage to bring a beam current within a range, and reduce the filament offset to zero such that the filament voltage is equal to the standby voltage.

  • Publication number: 20040178661
Abstract: The present invention concerns an apparatus for attaching a part, such as a trim component, to a surface of a vehicle body. The apparatus includes an elongated flange adapted to be attached to and extend outwardly from the body surface. The flange includes a head portion connected to a body portion and the head portion has a greater width than the body portion. The apparatus also includes an elongated carrier adapted to be attached to a part. The carrier has a body with a generally C-shaped profile extending between opposed edges, and a flexible projection extending from each edge of the carrier body, the projections extending toward one another to define an opening therebetween. The opening has a width less than the width of the flange head. When the flange body portion is attached to the surface of the vehicle body and the carrier opening is aligned with the flange head portion, a force is then applied to the carrier and the projections deflect, permitting the flange head portion to pass therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20040107994
Abstract: Disclosed is a water supply control system for controlling the water supply system in a structure, such as a home or industrial or commercial building. The water supply control system typically includes an electronically controlled on-off valve to shut down the water supply to the structure, and a water pressure relief valve coupled to the on-off valve. Additional means for relieving pressure build up in the water supply system that may be included in the control system are (1) an expansion bladder, or (2) a vent pipe integral to the water supply system and terminating on the exterior of the structure, including an on-off valve electronically controlled so as to open when the water supply system is shut down and to close when the water supply system is turned on, or (3) means for disabling a hot water heater integral to the water supply system, the disabling being accomplished concurrently with the closing of the water supply to the structure.
