  • Patent number: 5755645
Abstract: A passive exercise apparatus includes an interface member for coupling to a user's limb. An arm member is coupled to the interface member by a wrist joint. The wrist joint has rotational motion about three axes. A first link is coupled to the arm member by a sliding joint. The sliding joint allows translational motion of the arm member relative to the first link. A second link is rotatably coupled to the first link by a first rotary joint. A third link is rotatably coupled to the second link by a second rotary joint. A first brake is coupled to the first rotary joint for resisting movement of the first rotary joint. A second brake is coupled to the second rotary joint for resisting movement of the second rotary joint. A third brake is coupled to the arm member for resisting movement of the arm member. The user is capable of interfacing with the apparatus to exercise a six degree of freedom motion.

  • Patent number: 5122377
Abstract: A veterinary drug delivery system suitable for oral administration to animals comprising a suitable medication, a nonvolatile oil, silicone dioxide, capric/caprylic triglyceride and/or capric/caprylic/stearic triglyceride. Flavorings can be added to enhance the taste, however, even without extra flavorings the drug delivery system in administrable form is palatable. At room temperature ay and physical analysis demonstrated no significant changes in active ingredient quality. Additionally, no separation of ingredients and no changes in overall physical appearance were noted.

  • Patent number: 4519325
Abstract: A grain drill suspension system including a support member comprising a parallelogram link structure and a walking beam member. The walking beam member has furrow cutting discs attached to a front portion thereof and a press wheel attached to a rear portion thereof. The support member includes parallel vertical members and cross links. The walking beam is pivotally connected at a medial portion thereof to a rear vertical member of the parallelogram structure. A front vertical member is attached to a vertically adjustable attachment member associated with the suspension system. A first spring extends upwardly from a rear portion of the walking beam to the rear vertical member biasing the furrow cutting discs downwardly. A second spring cooperates with the front vertical member and the cross links resiliently urging the rear vertical member and walking beam downwardly. The springs, along with the position of the front vertical member, cooperate to determine the depth of the furrow cut by the furrow discs.

  • Patent number: 4182322
Abstract: A head-restraining and safety support device for use with a body splint/litter apparatus, the apparatus having a head-rest section at one end thereof. This invention includes the use of a durable, lightweight, three-section cushion which may be used to effectively cover and restrain, for the purpose of safety, the head of an accident victim who is being placed on the body splint/litter apparatus preparatory to being transported to a medical facility. Two flexible attaching members are connected to the rear edges of the opposing side cushion sections. The attaching members are fastenable to the head section of the body/splint litter apparatus by any convenient fastener such as hooks, snaps or ties, but preferably by the use of velcro fastening means.

  • Patent number: 4151842
Abstract: A body splint/litter device for rapidly and securely immobilizing an injured person at an accident site prior to and while transporting the person to a medical facility for appropriate care and treatment. The body splint/litter includes a rigid substantially body-shaped panel of a size compatible with placement within a standard basket-type stretcher. The panel has a plurality of elongated slots at its side suitably spaced for purposes of handling the injured person. One end of each of several fastener straps is directly attached to the rigid panel by screws or other suitable fasteners. Additional slots are located along the edges of the panel at various locations through which the free ends of the several restraining straps may be passed and folded back over the edge of the panel for rapid securing and adjustment of each strap. A supplemental harness for restricting further motion of the head is also provided.
