  • Patent number: 6635892
Abstract: A small and compact infrared scene projector allows for projection of infrared images from a variety of sources. The unit utilizes an external power supply to reduce the weight of the unit and has several input pathways such as an integrated RS-232 serial port and a video port for receiving RS-170 formatted video signals. The projector uses a digital signal processor to control its internal electronics and for on-board generation of pre-programmed infrared images. A processor electronics card and a scene generator electronics card communicate internally to generate images and to control a thermoelectric cooling device mounted to a semiconductor infrared emitter array to project flicker free, high resolution infrared images. Optics in the form of an interchangeable lens or a mirrored collimator allow for projection of a generated image onto a test object.

  • Patent number: 5042190
Abstract: A fly-fishing strike indicator which is moveable on a fishing leader but at the same time can maintain its position on the leader when a fly is cast. The indicator is constructed by forming a knot of surgical tubing on the leader. The knot being formed by passing one end of a leader through the center passage of a small section of surgical tubing and looping the leader outside the tubing and then reinserting the leader through the center passage of the tube in the same direction as before. As the leader is pulled taut, the resilient tube is deformed into a knot wherein the leaders runs nearly straight through the knot. Further, a cover of thermoplastic, heat shrinkable tubing is slid over the knot to surround the leader and the knot. The ends of the thermoplastic cover are then heated to constrict the ends loosely about the leader and to form an air pocket between the leader and cover.

  • Patent number: 4562870
Abstract: An improved tool for making dubbed bodies used in fly tying. This tool includes a thread twisting means releasably mounted on a base which means is used for twisting a loop of thread having dubbing material sandwiched in the loop. The thread twisting means can be released from the base and used as a tool for wrapping the dubbed thread on the body of the fly being tied. Further the gripping devices which hold the thread during the twisting process have multiple devices for holding the thread, the devices located one above the other. By selecting one of the devices the distance of the thread loop above the top surface of the base can be selected so that the taper of the dubbed thread can be selected easily.

  • Patent number: 4475699
Abstract: A leader dispenser having a housing for holding multiple leader spools. A coil spring is used to resiliently bias the spool into frictional engagement with an element for braking rotational movement of the spool thereby preventing free wheeling of the spool when leader is drawn from the spool. This spring also acts to resiliently force two washer-like elements together. The leader is directed between these two washer-like elements whereby the washers grip the leader between them preventing the leader from being drawn back into the housing after a length of leader is cut from the leader on the spool.
