Abstract: A separable container for storing a plurality of articles is formed from a pair of partially enclosed members arranged in adjacent relationship. A third member is secured to the first and second members so as to form with the first member a first walled enclosure and with the second member a second walled enclosure, each for storing a plurality of articles. A line of perforations arranged in association with the third member enables separating the first and second walled enclosures from each other. The separable container is particularly advantageous in enabling a retailer to sell less than a total quantity of stored articles within the original container, such as cigarette packs and the like.

Abstract: A blank for a hinged lid cigarette package which can have cigarettes removed therefrom as is common for a hinged lid package or as is common for a soft package. The hinged lid package includes a top panel having an opening which permits cigarettes to be removed from the package. A movable closure wall is provided which can be opened to allow removal of cigarettes from the package and closure of the package.

Abstract: A cigarette carton assembly for 10 packages of cigarettes can be tax stamped using automated tax stamping machinery; and later divided into 2 half carton assemblies, each containing 5 packages of cigarettes. Each of the half carton assemblies have cigarette packages positioned therein in a 1 by 5 configuration. The carton assembly includes a collar which acts as a top portion of the carton assembly, and allows the carton assembly to be taxed stamped using automated tax stamping machinery. Then, the collar can be removed from the carton assembly, and the remaining carton assembly can be subdivided into two half carton assemblies.

Abstract: A cigarette carton assembly for ten packages of cigarettes can be tax stamped using automated tax machinery; and later divided into two half carton assemblies, each containing five packages of cigarettes. Each of the half carton assemblies has cigarette packages positioned therein in a two/three configuration, that is, three packages are positioned side-by-side on the right side of the carton assembly, and two packages are positioned side-by-side on the left side of the carton assembly. Each of the half carton assemblies is provided using materials which (i) provide a portion of standard and half carton assemblies, as well as (ii) function to attach the half carton assemblies together.
