  • Patent number: 7633020
Abstract: A lift and weighing system comprises two lift arm assemblies directly and mechanically coupled to at least two weight-measuring devices. The system may further comprise a first elongated support member extending between and coupling to the two weight-measuring devices, and a second elongated support member interposed between and rigidly affixed on opposing sides thereof to the lift arm assemblies and/or the weight-measuring devices to protect the weight-measuring devices from side loads. The system further comprises at least two end plate adaptors respectively positioned on and rigidly attached toward opposing ends of the elongated support member and adapted to rotatably engage an external actuating system configured to operate the lift and weighing system. In another embodiment, the weight-measuring devices are housed in the elongated support member.

  • Patent number: 7196277
Abstract: A cement mixer truck and a weight measuring system is provided, comprising a mixing chamber, at least one rear roller bearing assembly, and a front mounting assembly. The rear roller bearing assembly includes a roller bearing and a first weight measurement device. The first measurement device can be configured to generate a first set of electrical signals corresponding to a load generated by the mixing chamber at the roller bearing. The front mounting assembly includes an engagement device and a second weight measurement device coupled to the engagement device. The second weight measurement device can be configured to generate a second set of electrical signals corresponding to a load generated by the mixing chamber at the engagement device. Means for electrically coupling the first and second weight measuring devices can calculate the weight of the chamber or the contents therein, or both.

  • Patent number: 6118083
Abstract: A weight measurement apparatus of the type for determining the weight of a load placed on a wheeled vehicle. The apparatus includes an elongated load bearing member coupled between the load and the wheels. The load bearing member has two apertures that extend completely through the load bearing member, and load sensors attached to the walls of the apertures for calculating the stress in the apparatus created by the load. The apparatus can further include a decoder for converting the stress measurement to a weight value and an onboard display device for displaying the weight of the load to the vehicle operator. The apparatus may be sized and shaped to retrofit existing structural components of a truck, thereby adding a weight measurement capability to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5811738
Abstract: A weight measurement apparatus of the type for determining the weight of a load placed on a wheeled vehicle. The apparatus is releasably connectable to the vehicle at a location between the axles of the vehicle, which retain the wheels, and the portion of the vehicle retaining the load. The apparatus includes strain gages for calculating the stress in the device created by the load, a decoder for converting the stress measurement to a weight value, and an onboard display device for displaying the weight of the load to the vehicle operator. The apparatus may be sized and shaped to retrofit existing structural components in the suspension system of a truck, thereby adding a weight measurement capability to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5007042
Abstract: A method and apparatus for digitizing and transmitting one or more analog signals simultaneously over a two-wire line. The two-wire line not only provides the power required for the digitizing circuit and sensor, but is used also to transmit the analog information in a digital pulse train encoded with the power supply current. All data pulses are transmitted as the quiescent current of each analog coder module and its associated transducers connected to it. These data pulses start and end by transmission of a digital sync current pulse which separates transmission of each analog data pulse. The width of each data pulse conveys the desired information. A circuit for generating the pulse train having only two amplitudes but pulses having a variable width includes an SR flip-flop coupled to the output stage.
