  • Publication number: 20140157645
Abstract: A sighting device replicates the spread pattern of pellets exiting the barrel of a shotgun. The sighting device includes a light source (preferably a laser) and a power source connectable to the light source. The device may also include a mount to attach the sighting device to a shotgun. The sighting device preferably projects a circular pattern of individual light beams wherein the circumference of the circular pattern increases as the light beams move farther from the sighting device to replicate the spread of shotgun pellets. The sighting device may also project a beam of light in the center of the pattern.

  • Patent number: 8696150
Abstract: A lighting device is mountable on the side of an automatic pistol by using openings already formed in the pistol body to connect the pistol body to the frame rail of the pistol using frame insert pins. In a retrofit application, to connect the lighting device to the pistol, the frame insert pins are removed from the pistol, the lighting device is aligned with the side of the pistol such that one or more apertures of the lighting device align with an opening in which the frame insert pin(s) were removed, and either the same frame insert pins, or slightly longer ones, are inserted through the aligned apertures and openings. In this manner, the lighting device is mounted to a side of the body of the pistol, and the side portion of the body of the pistol is again connected to the frame rail.

  • Patent number: 8607495
Abstract: A sighting device is mountable to a gun. The device includes a sighting light source at the rear of the that is visible to a user when turned on. The sighting light source (preferably an LED light source emitted through an opening), can be used to sight a target. Preferably, the gun with which the sighting device is used also has a first, mechanical sight at the end of the barrel distal the sighting light source. In use the user aligns the sighting light source with the first, mechanical sight in order to properly sight a target. The first, mechanical sight could also be illuminated by a light source on the device, so it can be seen when the ambient light is low.

  • Publication number: 20130067789
Abstract: An accessory is mountable to the side plate of a gun. The accessory may be a sighting device including a light source (preferably a laser), and a power source connectable to the light source. The side plate is positioned on the gun, which is preferably a revolver, preferably by being screwed to it. The side plate includes an attachment mechanism that is preferably located behind the trigger guard and behind the gun cylinder, wherein the accessory is attachable to the attachment mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20130017515
Abstract: A target senses whether and where it has been struck by a laser light. The target includes a screen for allowing laser light to pass through, a plurality of light sensors behind the screen, and an optical display associated with one or more of the light sensors. When the target is struck by a laser light, a sensor records the strike, and the target may be struck with laser light multiple times, whereby different sensors may record the different strikes. To determine whether and where the target has been struck, the user activates a display mode that causes the optical displays in the target to illuminate. The user can then reset the target so the user can begin again.

  • Patent number: 8312666
Abstract: A sighting device is mountable to a gun. The device includes a light source (preferably a laser), a power source connectable to the light source and a mount attachable to the gun so that the laser is juxtaposed either the top surface of the gun or a side surface of the gun. In one embodiment, the sighting device includes a bottom rail mountable in a slot on the gun, wherein the slot is preferably positioned on the top surface of the gun. The sighting device may also include a mechanical sight that functions as the rear mechanical sight on the gun and/or a secondary light source.

  • Patent number: 8312665
Abstract: A sighting device is mountable to the side plate of a gun. The sighting device includes a light source (preferably a laser), a power source connectable to the light source. The sighting device is mounted to a gun, usually by being mounted to a side plate, which is then mounted to a gun. In one embodiment, the sighting device is mounted to the side plate by being screwed or bolted to it. In another embodiment, the sighting device includes a recess or channel that receives a rail, such as a dove-tail projection (or protrusion), formed on the side or vice versa. A side plate to which the sighting device can be attached and a gun including the sighting device are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20120224387
Abstract: A cartridge laser trainer fits into a gun barrel and includes a backer, circuit and a laser. When the firing pin of the gun is activated it strikes the backer, which contacts the circuit and activates the laser. The cartridge laser trainer may also have one or more O-rings to keep it positioned properly in the gun barrel. Also disclosed are kits that contain (1) a plurality of sheaths and a cartridge laser trainer, or (2) a plurality of O-rings and a cartridge laser trainer. Each sheath or O-ring(s) is configured to be positioned in a particular-sized gun bore and is configured to receive a cartridge laser trainer. With a kit, a single cartridge laser trainer can be used with more than one size of gun bore.
