  • Publication number: 20020011085
Abstract: The present anti-shock mechanism for an electronic lock is designed to limit displacement of the solenoid plunger when an external force acts on the lock case of an electronic lock. An external force, such as that created by a translating actuator, applied in a horizontal direction parallel to the direction of plunger motion may cause the solenoid plunger to displace allowing the lock to be opened without authorization. The addition of a properly sized anti-shock mechanism limits displacement of the solenoid plunger due to an external force or impact and allows movement of the solenoid plunger when the solenoid plunger movement is due to an authorized access. Under normal operating conditions when the lock is locked, the bolt is in the fully extended position and the solenoid is not actuated. Upon authorization, the solenoid actuates causing the mechanical components to be placed in a condition whereby the operator may open the lock.

  • Patent number: 5893283
Abstract: An electronic combination lock of the self-powered type, wherein the electrical energy for operation of the lock is developed within the lock itself, has a solenoid which magnetically seals in the activated position, thus preserving the "open" condition of the lock until such time as the operator may withdraw the bolt. Significantly, there is no requirement for continued electrical power to hold the solenoid and the latching mechanism in a condition for lock opening.

  • Patent number: 5365315
Abstract: The charging roller (42) and push plates (44) are spring mounted to the lid (36) of the printer. When the lid is closed, the plates push plungers (11) down to rotate crank arms (23), which open a shutter (7) in electrophotographic cartridge (1). This holds the cartridge in place and provides both a resilient, protective cushion for the cartridge and a pop-up action to the lid.

  • Patent number: 5268726
Abstract: An electrophotographic printer (11) including a fuser (16, 17) for fusing a toned image onto an envelope (13) passing through a fuser nip (14). Wrinkling and treeing of the envelope (13) is substantially eliminated by removing the pressure on the envelope (13) in the fuser nip (14) for one or more brief intervals during the fusing process. To do this, a solenoid (21) is intermittently driven to remove the force of a spring (18) urging the fuser rolls (16, 17) together.

  • Patent number: 4348124
Abstract: A tabulation rack having simple and inexpensive construction. The rack has a set of straight-sided pins (5 or 50) which act as stops. They are held by an elongated main beam (3 or 54) in opposed slots. In one embodiment a pair of coil springs (7) are deformed along their long axis within the area formed by the bridge (25) of beam (3) and the pins (5). In a second embodiment, a single music wire 52 is extended between staggered, round pins 50. Frictional drag holds the pins (5 or 50) in their set and clear positions.
