  • Publication number: 20240084704
Abstract: A wind turbine system can employ any number of wind turbine blades each having a continuous leading edge extending from a hub to a blade tip. The leading edge of a turbine blade can have a first cross-sectional shape corresponding to a first lift profile. A portion of the leading edge of the turbine blade may be covered by a continuous flexible sheet of material that defines a lifting edge that provides a second lift profile for the turbine blade that differs from the first lift profile.

  • Patent number: 10041474
Abstract: A wind turbine system may be configured with at least one wind turbine having an exterior surface. A distribution pipe positioned between the exterior surface and a drag feature with the drag feature connected to the exterior surface via at least one attachment feature. At least one nozzle can continuously extend from the distribution pipe through the drag feature. A controller connected to the distribution pipe may selectively activate the at least one nozzle to eject compressed fluids from the turbine blade to modify a preexisting radial velocity of the at least one turbine blade.

  • Publication number: 20180023547
Abstract: Electrical power may be generated by a system employing wind and solar energy capturing means. A wind turbine can be connected to a controller and have at least one blade connected to an electrical generator. A pressure vessel may be pneumatically connected to at least one nozzle that is attached proximal the wind turbine. A compressor can be connected to the pressure vessel and the controller so that the compressor is operated via electricity produced by the electrical generator. At least one solar panel that is positioned proximal the at least one nozzle can clean a solar panel with compressed air from the pressure vessel in response to the controller.

  • Patent number: 8961101
Abstract: A system of operating a wind turbine that is capable of extending electricity production, such as in low and high wind speed environments. In accordance with various embodiments, a wind turbine speed maintenance system has a wind turbine with at least one turbine blade that has a trailing edge with a speed feature. The speed feature is connected to a controller and a pressure vessel, the controller selectively activating the speed feature in response to the turbine blade reaching a predetermined radial velocity.
