  • Publication number: 20240093513
Abstract: A method for thermal management of a power trowel executable by an on-board logic controller allows operation of the trowel in normal mode in which rotor speed is determined by manual control and in which a sensed temperature of the trowel lies below a high temperature setpoint. In response to the sensed temperature exceeding the high temperature setpoint, the controller switches operation of the power trowel from normal mode to thermal management mode in which a maximum rotor speed achievable by manual control is reduced by the controller in incremental steps to allow the trowel to cool. In response to the sensed temperature reaching a low temperature setpoint, the controller increases rotor speed in incremental steps, and returns operation to normal mode when a desired rotor speed is maintained for sufficient time during which the sensed temperature remains below the low temperature setpoint.

  • Patent number: 7638798
Abstract: A laminated wafer sensor structure includes a housing layer having pocket openings formed therein, a circuit layer having a sensor element and electronic components mounted for registration with the pocket openings in the housing layer, and a rigid back layer. The laminated structure is suitable for handling by conventional robotic wafer handling systems. The wafer sensor structure is adapted for electrical connection to a base station that is also adapted for connection to a host computer system to facilitate communication among the sensor structure, the base station and the host computer.

  • Patent number: 4874611
Abstract: A method of manufacture and the product made thereby are set forth; in the preferred and illustrated embodiment, a core including an insect poison is encapsulated by shell material melting and hardening for encapsulation. The core is primarily soybean extract mixed with DURSBAN.RTM. insecticide, an example of a toxicant. The surrounding shell or encapsulation is formed by melt extrusion of shell material. The surrounding shell encloses the core material to form an impervious shell. The surrounding shell includes soy protein as an insect attractant mixed in gelatin or poly(vinyl alcohol). A gelling agent such as carrageenan and the attractant were added to the shell. The beads formed by the melt extrusion encapsulation has sufficient shell strength to enable mechanical handling for dispensing, are resistant to water, do not bleed from the inside to the outside, and yet can be penetrated by the insect.

  • Patent number: 4070354
Abstract: Aziridinyl-terminated polymers containing the recurring unit ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or methyl and R.sub.2 is hydrogen or a side chain of like structure, are prepared by warming N-(2-hydroxyethyl)- or N-(2-hydroxypropyl)ethylenimine or -propyleneimine. Generally, the reaction is conducted in the presence of an alkali metal and at least trace amounts of water. The polymers are useful as curing agents for epoxy resins.

  • Patent number: 4026932
Abstract: A method for the preparation of aqueous solutions of anionic polyelectrolytes by combining a stream of a high solid content alkenoic acid-alkyl acrylate latex with a stream of aqueous alkali metal hydroxide, mixing the combined streams under low shear conditions and heating the mixture to produce a polyelectrolyte solution. The use of these steps avoids the formation of high viscosity mixtures or rubber masses which are difficult, if not impossible, to further process into the desired polyelectrolyte solution.
