  • Publication number: 20040187765
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a restriction indicator for an air cleaner system of an internal combustion engine. The restriction indicator includes a housing divided into first and second chambers by a diaphragm. A signal member is connected to the diaphragm. The signal member is moveable along an axis between a reset position and a first indicator position, and defines an axial opening within which a first retaining shoulder is located. A guide member is provided for guiding the signal member as the signal member is moved between the reset position and the first axial position. A retaining member is provided for retaining the signal member in the first indicator position. The retaining member extends within the axial opening of the signal member and includes at least two fingers that project radially outward from the axis. The fingers are configured to engage the first retaining shoulder to retain the signal member in the first indicator position.

  • Patent number: 6161417
Abstract: A restriction indicator for an air cleaner of an internal combustion engine. A bellows-type diaphragm is biased toward a retracted position by a first end of a compression spring. A calibration wheel threadingly engaging the housing supports a second end of the compression spring, such that the restriction indicator can be calibrated by rotation of the calibration wheel. An end of the compression spring is seated on a slanted seating surface so that a plunger is pushed off-center to engage a latch and lock the restriction indicator.

  • Patent number: 6015452
Abstract: A filter arrangement is provided. The filter arrangement generally includes an air filter having an upstream surface with a prefilter positioned thereon. The prefilter preferably include at least two layers of depth media. In preferred systems, the prefilter includes two layers of depth media secured to one another by stitching. In certain preferred arrangements disclosed, the prefilter include an upstream layer of fibrous depth media and a downstream layer of foam depth media, with the two layers stitched to one another along peripheral edges. The invention also concerns provision of prefilters, and also air filter arrangements which include housings having air filters with prefilters according to the present invention operably positioned therein. Methods of construction and use are also provided.

  • Patent number: 5685345
Abstract: Air conduit construction is provided. The construction generally comprises a conduit section having an open end; and, a support member positioned inside of the conduit section open end. In preferred arrangements, the conduit construction has two open ends, with a reinforcing member in each of the open ends. In preferred arrangements, the reinforcing member includes a friction fit construction on an outer surface thereof. In typical and preferred embodiments, the friction fit construction includes a bead on the reinforcing member. A method of preparing air conduit constructions is also provided.
