    Abstract: A valve device (2), of a pneumatically actuatable friction clutch engageable by spring force, includes at least one inlet valve (16, 18) connected on the input side to a pressurized supply line and on the output side to an actuating cylinder of the friction clutch. A pressure-sustaining valve (20, 28) is upstream or downstream of the inlet valve and is designed as a check valve closing in the backflow direction. The pressure-sustaining valve is a springless check valve and includes a housing ring (22, 30) having a retaining basket (36), a closing element (24, 32), and a valve seat (26, 34). The closing element, in the depressurized state and with a positive pressure gradient is held in the retaining basket (36) of the housing ring (22, 30) and, with a negative pressure gradient is pressed out of the retaining basket (36) and against the valve seat (26, 34).

Each of the electromagnetic pilot valves comprises a coil for producing a magnetic flux along a valve axis, an armature which can be moved in the axial direction of the valve axis, a valve seat which can be closed and opened by the armature, and a pneumatic inlet port and a pneumatic outlet port. At least two of the pilot valves lie next to each other with parallel valve axes. Each pilot valve has a port which protrudes towards a common underside for connection to a pilot chamber of the consumer controlled by the pilot valves.

The piston has a peripheral annular groove of approximately rectangular cross-sectional in which a sealing ring is inserted, the free end of which is disposed on the inner cover surface of the cylinder. The sealing ring defines, together with at least one groove wall, at least one pressure support chamber. The piston also comprises, in the region of the annular groove, at least one axial opening, which joins the at least one pressure support chamber to the associated first or second cylinder chamber. A pneumatic or hydraulic connection independent of any geometric deformations of the sealing ring is enabled between at least one cylinder chamber and the associated pressure support chamber.
