  • Patent number: 5645425
Abstract: A dental model and articulator system comprises upper and lower dental casts that each receive a corresponding anchor in their respective vertical posterior faces. A generally rectangular articulator main body has a transverse horizontal hinge attachment on its top that connects to an upper arm and the anchor on the upper dental cast. A vertical pivot is provided in the bottom end of the articulator main body that connects to the anchor on the lower dental cast. The upper and lower anchors attach to their respective articulator parts with a stem-in-sleeve arrangement that allows independent lateral tilting of both the upper and lower dental casts for occlusal and masticatory registration and fixing with glue. The vertical pivot also attaches to the articulator main body with a stem-in-sleeve arrangement that allows further degrees of freedom for the occlusal and masticatory registration between the upper and lower dental casts and for fixing the registration with glue.

  • Patent number: 5506095
Abstract: A dental cast tray subassembly for forming a dental cast model and for mounting to a dental articulator. The tray subassembly forms a channel shaped in a configuration of a human jaw to receive a mold material for forming a dental cast model. The channel further includes ribs for registering the model relative to the channel and a release mechanism for releasing the model from the channel. Further included is a platform for interconnecting with connectors for connecting the subassembly to an articulator.

  • Patent number: 5221203
Abstract: The present invention comprises an articulator for registering an upper dental cast to a lower dental cast. The articulator includes an upper member subassembly with left and right sides and a lower member subassembly with left and right sides each composed of plastic material. The articulator further has at least one hinge member engaging one of the members allowing one of said members to pivot relative to the other member and a coupling means flexibly connecting the upper member subassembly to the lower member subassembly. The articulator further includes disconnectable connection means joined to one of the members for disengaging the upper member subassembly and the lower member subassembly whereby the upper and the lower member subassemblies may be separated, and a clipping means for removably securing the upper member subassembly to the upper dental cast and the lower member subassembly to the lower dental cast such that said upper and lower dental casts can be properly and flexibly aligned.

  • Patent number: 5181849
Abstract: The present invention comprises an articulating paper holder which has an elongated handle and an elongated holding arm. The holding arm is securely attached to and extends from the handle. The holding arm includes a holding means for securely holding a piece of articulating paper for imprinting occlusion contact patterns. Specifically, in a preferred embodiment, the elongated handle and arm are composed of plastic material whereby the articulating paper holder can be inexpensively mass produced and is therefore disposable.

  • Patent number: 5076786
Abstract: An articulator comprising two U-shaped wire frames joined by hinges and springs. The frames are snapped onto plastic clips cemented to dental casts. The clips allow the casts to be removed and reintroduced in repeatable positions. A slip-joint provides for left and right height adjustment between the dental casts to be adjusted or separated completely.
