  • Patent number: 11329178
Abstract: A solar panel comprises a double-glass photovoltaic module mounted in a frame. The double-glass photovoltaic module comprises a plurality of solar cells embedded between a front glass sheet and a rear glass sheet. The rear glass sheet exhibits a larger extension than the front glass sheet, in at least two spatial directions, as measured in the rear glass sheet plane. The frame comprises a clamping element clamping only the rear glass sheet and not the front glass sheet of the double-glass photovoltaic module. The front glass sheet is either flush with a plane defined by inner edges of a front face of the frame or protrudes beyond the front face of the frame.

  • Publication number: 20190363209
Abstract: A photovoltaic module comprises a plurality of photovoltaic cells. A cell body of the cells includes an electrically conductive front side surface layer arranged on the semiconductor body. It forms a front surface of the cell body that is transparent for electromagnetic radiation. An electrically conductive back side surface layer is arranged on the semiconductor body and forms a back surface of the cell body. The cells are electrically connected with each other via a plurality of electrically conductive wires that are configured for providing a voltage to an external electrical load in operation of the module. The wires have a convex outer surface and include a metal core and an electrically conductive and adhesive wire coat directly attached and in immediate electrical contact surface of a given cell body by means of an electrically conductive adhesive bond.

  • Publication number: 20160163902
Abstract: A solar panel includes a plurality of solar cells electrically connected to one another in a string along a string direction. Each of the solar cells are made up of solar cell strips that are shingled with respect to one another along a shingling direction. The shingling direction is perpendicular to the string direction.

  • Publication number: 20110192826
Abstract: An electrically conductive substrate is provided with a predetermined electrical pattern. A solder paste is deposited onto the electrically conductive substrate at pre-defined interconnection locations. A first encapsulant layer provided with a pattern of openings is placed onto the electrically conductive substrate. Back-contact solar cells are placed on the first encapsulant layer so as to have a match of the electrical pattern of the back-contact solar cells with the electrical pattern of the electrically conductive substrate. A second encapsulant layer is placed on the back-contact solar cells with a glass layer placed on the second encapsulant layer. Heat and pressure are applied to the components to cause the encapsulant materials to flow and form a monolithic photovoltaic module. A laser is applied to the solar cell from the side of the glass layer to cause the solder paste to reflow between each interconnection location and its matching connection location on the back-contact solar cell.
