A part of the hydraulic piston arrangement or a position-sensing mechanism remote from the hydraulic chamber adjoins a fluid chamber, which is connected to or forms a part of a connecting duct or cylinder chamber, so that in the fluid chamber the control pressure from a valve arrangement acts on the hydraulic piston arrangement with a force that is opposed to the force with which the fluid pressure in the hydraulic chamber acts on the hydraulic piston arrangement. Assembly and maintenance are facilitated. The friction surfaces of the clutch are well sealed off from the hydraulic fluid.
