  • Publication number: 20150086965
Abstract: An audio demonstration kit encourages understanding of audio concepts by enabling children to construct and study speaker performance. In a particular example, the audio demonstration kit includes a paper speaker and instructions. The paper speaker includes a backplate, a suspension, and a diaphragm cut from a single sheet of paper. The demonstration kit may feature an amplifier that is configurable to accommodate various hardware additions as a child is ready for more progressively challenging construction. For example, the amplifier of an example allows single and dual mode operation, as well as drives a rotary motor and is coordinated with a strobe light. The amplifier of an example is synchronized with the strobe light and a moveable platform to create the impression of that jiggling figures attached to the table are dancing. Interfaces with smart phone, recording, and other technologies further enhances and encourages the learning experience.

  • Patent number: 8948431
Abstract: According to a first aspect, a method of controlling an electronic system includes the step of receiving by a first device a plurality of receivable wireless signals that are intended to control functions of a second device. The first device transmits a wireless signal that prevents a subset of the plurality of receivable wireless signals from controlling the second device.

  • Publication number: 20130343568
Abstract: A system includes a housing, a speaker included in the housing, and a first transceiver associated with the housing to wirelessly transmit and receive audio content and control information. The speaker is able to produce audible signals from the audio content received by the transceiver. A plurality of remote speakers each have a transceiver. The transceivers of the remote speakers are able to communicate with each other and the first transceiver.

  • Patent number: 8242792
Abstract: The impedance of ionic solutions may be determined using a bridge circuit where the ionic solution forms one leg of the bridge circuit and a reference impedance characterized by a reference time constant forms a second leg of the bridge circuit. The bridge is driven by a switched DC voltage waveform. Measurement of the ionic solution is delayed after switching to allow the reference impedance to reach its asymptotic value. The reference impedance may be varied to reduce the reference time constant.

  • Publication number: 20100109687
Abstract: The impedance of ionic solutions may be determined using a bridge circuit where the ionic solution comprises a leg of the bridge circuit and a reference impedance characterized by a reference time constant comprises a second leg of the bridge circuit. The bridge is driven by a switched DC voltage waveform. Measurement of the ionic solution is delayed after switching to allow the reference impedance to reach its asymptotic value. The reference impedance may be varied to reduce the reference time constant.
