  • Patent number: 8632613
Abstract: A process for treating a textile web includes applying a first treatment agent to the web. The web is moved in an open configuration over a contact surface of an ultrasonic vibration system. The ultrasonic vibration system is operated to impart ultrasonic energy to the textile web to facilitate the distribution of the first treatment agent through a first extent of the thickness of the textile web. A second treatment agent is applied to the web. The web is moved in an open configuration thereof over a contact surface of an ultrasonic vibration system. The ultrasonic vibration system is operated to impart ultrasonic energy to the textile web to facilitate the distribution of the second treatment agent through a second extent of the thickness of the web. The second extent is different than the first extent.

  • Patent number: 8241381
Abstract: A disposable air filter that includes: (a) air filtration media; (b) a substantially planar air filter frame providing three-dimensional support for the air filtration media; and (c) an inter-filter gap filler disposed along substantially the entire length of at least one side of an opposed pair of the first or second sides and integrated into the air filter frame is disclosed. The integral inter-filter gap filler reduces gaps between adjacent air filters disposed in a filter track of an air filter bank.

  • Patent number: 8021454
Abstract: A disposable air filter sub-assembly that includes: (a) air filtration media; (b) a substantially planar air filter frame providing three-dimensional support for the air filtration media; and (c) an air filter frame-connecting means integrated into the air filter frame. The integrated air filter frame-connecting means are adapted to connect a plurality of identical air filter sub-assemblies into an air filter assembly with sufficient structural strength in at least one direction such that the air filter sub-assemblies resists separation when the air filter assembly is extracted from the filter track of a filter bank.

  • Publication number: 20060225744
Abstract: The present invention provides a low-cost system and method for detecting substances within a mouth that influence oral health. The system and method also treat the mouth when certain substances are detected within the mouth. In some forms, the system includes a holder, a sensor that is attached to the holder and an oral treatment that is secured by the holder. The sensor detects a substance that influences oral health when the system is placed near a mouth. The oral treatment engages the mouth to treat the mouth when the substance is detected within the mouth. The method includes placing the system near a mouth and detecting the presence of a substance that influences oral health using the sensor. The method further includes treating the mouth using the oral treatment.

  • Publication number: 20060141421
Abstract: The present invention relates to a low cost and portable system and method for detecting substances related to oral health. In one example embodiment, the system includes a sensor that is incorporated into an oral healthcare device (e.g., a toothbrush). The sensor detects bacterial and/or chemical levels that are within a mouth in order to provide an indication as to the presence of oral malodor and/or bacteria within the mouth.

  • Publication number: 20050049537
Abstract: A flexible wrap and method for supporting a portion of a body. The flexible wrap includes an elastic band and an adhesive mounted on the elastic band near an end of the elastic band. The adhesive secures the elastic band to a body and is adapted to be detachably mounted to the body. In another form, the flexible wrap includes an elastic band and a plurality of fingers that extend from an end of the elastic band. Each of the plurality of fingers is secured to an exposed section of the elastic band when the flexible wrap is attached to the body. In still another form, the flexible wrap includes an elastic band and a pack having a midsection. The flexible wrap further includes a fastener, such as an adhesive, that extends along the midsection of the pack and secures the pack to the elastic band.
