  • Publication number: 20220184492
Abstract: A server executing an application generates a frame token for a frame that is rendered for the application. One or more first metric messages are provided to the application in response to at least one first operation performed by the server on the frame. The first metric messages include the frame token and information indicating timing of the at least one first operation. The encoded information representing the frame token and the frame is transmitted from the server towards a client. One or more second metric messages are provided to the application in response to one or more second operations performed by the client on the frame. The one or more second metric messages include the frame token and information indicating timing of the second operations. A state of the application is modified based on the first and second metric messages.

  • Publication number: 20150199927
Abstract: An edge-lit sign includes several layers of transparent material. Each layer of the transparent material is etched to transmit light at the location of the etching. Each layer of material is lit by a different color. To display a multi-colored image in the edge-lit sign, the multi-colored image is associated with individual pixels. Each pixel is displayed by component colors in each layer of transparent material. At each layer of transparent material, a pixel is offset such that the etching for a pixel at each layer is not occluded by the etchings of another layer. In this way, when the layers are lit by lighting sources, the lighting for each layer may be viewed by a user to make a multi-colored image.

  • Patent number: 8866833
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for a dynamic display refresh. In use, a state of a display device is identified in which an entirety of an image frame is currently displayed by the display device. In response to the identification of the state, it is determined whether an entirety of a next image frame to be displayed has been rendered to memory. The next image frame is transmitted to the display device for display thereof, when it is determined that the entirety of the next image frame to be displayed has been rendered to the memory. Further, a refresh of the display device is delayed, when it is determined that the entirety of the next image frame to be displayed has not been rendered to the memory.

  • Patent number: 8542221
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for continuously adjusting a variable refresh rate to reduce the power consumption of a display device. The refresh rate of the display device tracks the effective frame rate of the content being displayed. As the effective frame rate of the content decreases, the refresh rate is lowered until a minimum value is reached. When the effective frame rate of the content equals the refresh rate, the refresh rate is increased until the refresh rate exceeds the effective frame rate of the content or until a maximum value is reached.
