  • Patent number: 10492712
Abstract: The present invention is a system and method for identifying certain physical properties of human feet. The system uses electronic and optical elements to perform before and after pronation test and before and after arch tests (meaning before and after use of an orthotic), and develop a 360 degree, three-dimensional view of the foot. It includes an insertable shoe-simulator used to assist in providing before- and after analysis of pronation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 16, 2018
Date of Patent: December 3, 2019
    Assignee: AETREX WORLDWIDE, INC.
    Inventor: Laurence Schwartz

  • Patent number: 10417772
Abstract: A process to isolate objects of interest in an image uses a model which takes into account the artifacts stemming from the JPEG compression. The pixels are sorted accordingly to layers which regroup pixels of similar value, and the background is modeled by a polygon from an additional picture. Segmentation based on the knowledge of the background and the layers is then performed. This method provides good results for segmentation, while being sufficiently fast to be implemented for real time application.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 28, 2017
Date of Patent: September 17, 2019

  • Publication number: 20190150791
Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating a custom made orthotic or insole for footwear. Information relating to the pressure applied by the sole of a person's foot is used to custom produce an orthotic or insole for the person by using softer material or different structural components, selectively located at pressure points of a particular individual, to unload pressure on the foot at those points. Pressure readings taken for the foot of an individual identify pressure points for that foot. The pressure points are quantified and the foot is “mapped” in a grid format on a pressure map. Once mapped, structural components corresponding to a particular pressure value are positioned in the orthotic based on the mapping.
