The socket connector part (6) comprises a socket housing (40), A plurality of terminals (42) within said housing (40) for making an electrical connection with said terminal pins (8) and a seal (54) on a face portion (62) of the socket housing (40). The seal (54) comprises a plurality of openings (56) through which the terminal pins (8) may extend. Sealing surfaces (34) are provided around the terminal pins (8) for sealing engagement with the seal (54) around the openings (56).
