Patent number: 7510078Abstract: A tool box has a bottom portion, a pair of side portions, a back portion, a front portion, and a cover rotatably mounted adjacent the back portion. The cover has a horizontal section and a slanted section sloping downwardly from the horizontal section. A partition plate is positioned in the interior of the tool box and has a peg sheet mounted thereto with a row of pegs extending upwardly from the top of the partition plate. The upper ends of the pegs contact or are in close proximity to the horizontal section of the cover when the cover is in its closed position such that tools disposed on the pegs are secured in position. A pair of compartments are positioned in the interior, one near the bottom of the box and one intermediate the bottom and the top, both having a cover structure disposed thereon with peg sheets for maintaining tools in secured and unsecured positions.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2004Date of Patent: March 31, 2009Assignee: Montezuma Mgf., Inc.Inventors: LaVern D. Publication number: 20020130598Abstract: A mobile industrial tool chest having modular shelving is provided. A frame having a top, a base and a rear wall therebetween defines an interior of a first embodiment of the tool chest. A pair of generally L-shaped doors are pivotally coupled to the frame on opposite sides and adjacent to the rear wall. The doors are movable between open positions where access to an interior of the tool chest is permitted and closed positions where access to the interior of the tool chest is prohibited. The shelving brackets are preferably arranged in a plurality of vertical columns. A plurality of variously shaped shelves are provided for removable coupling with the shelf brackets. A second embodiment of the tool chest defines an interior of the tool chest by a back wall and first and second side walls. The interior of the second embodiment similarly includes columns of shelving brackets accessible through an opening in the front of the tool chest.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2001Publication date: September 19, 2002Applicant: Montezuma Welding & Mfg., Inc.Inventor: LaVern D. Patent number: 6394001Abstract: A table apparatus for a motor vehicle is provided. The table apparatus includes a table structure that is pivotally attached to the exterior of the vehicle. The table structure includes a top surface, a bottom surface, an upper edge and a lower edge. The table structure is pivotable from a first storage position to a second horizontal position substantially perpendicular to the exterior of the vehicle. The table structure includes a plurality of panels that are telescopically extendable from one another in a direction away from and substantially perpendicular to the vehicle exterior while the table structure is in the second position. The table structure is pivotable about its upper edge and supported in its second position by a rod that is selectively disposed between the cover and one of said plurality of panels.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2000Date of Patent: May 28, 2002Assignee: DaimlerChrysler CorporationInventors: Jennifer L Giesey, Vernon J Scott, Jr., Jeffrey M Niemi, Lavern D Schmidt, Jr.

Patent number: 6003922Abstract: An arrangement for mounting a spare tire and a license plate to a motor vehicle. The license plate mount includes a base member connected to an external panel of the vehicle, a display cover adapted to be normally parallel and spaced from the external panel to allow a spare tire to be positioned therebetween, and a linkage connecting the display cover to the base member to allow the display cover to articulate about a hinge point for providing access to a spare tire.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 1999Date of Patent: December 21, 1999Assignee: DaimlerChrysler CorporationInventors: Jennifer L. Giesey, Jeffrey M. Niemi, Vernon J. Scott, Duane A. Spytman, Lavern D. Schmidt, Jr., Bryan R. Moore, Robert E. Litwin, E. Mackey King

Patent number: 5997116Abstract: A rolling toolbox is provided which has a generally rectangular frame. The frame forms an interior compartment and has a front plate, a rear plate and opposing end plates mounted thereon. The front plate has an opening therein. Mounted to the frame in pivotal relationship is at least one bin which has an end plate, a retaining plate and opposing side plates. Mounted to the retaining plate is a rearwardly extending latch. A drawer is slidingly received within the frame through the drawer opening. The drawer has a handle extending upwardly therefrom. The handle of the drawer matingly fits with the latch of the bin to hold the bin in a closed position during transport of the toolbox. The bin may be opened by pulling thereon, the latch releasing from the handle upon the application of an opening force on the bin.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 1998Date of Patent: December 7, 1999Assignee: Montezuma Welding & Mfg., Inc.Inventor: LaVern D. Patent number: 5678500Abstract: A seed delivery device is positioned on the seed tube of a planter and between a pair of V-oriented opening disks. The device has an elongated duct having an upper end with an opening capable of being disposed in spatial communication with the seed tube. A lower end of the duct has an opening which is positioned directly behind and adjacent to the location where the pair of opening disks contact one another. The duct extends along a substantially straight line below the seed tube so that a seed traveling through the duct is directed in a substantially downward direction into a V-shaped trench. Structure is also provided for attaching the duct to the planter.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 1995Date of Patent: October 21, 1997Assignee: Montezuma Welding & Mfg., Inc.Inventor: LaVern D. Schmidt

Patent number: 5431233Abstract: A scraper is provided for use on depth gauge wheels provided on planters for row crops such as corn, soybeans, cotton, beans, peanuts and the like. The scraper includes a scraper blade which is mounted at one end portion of an elongated arm for contacting the outer circumference of the depth gauge wheel and a second scraper blade that is mounted on the elongated arm at a position for preventing the accumulation of debris in the recessed well formed in the face of the depth gauge wheel. The other end of the arm is mounted by a bearing assembly to a hub provided on the depth gauge wheel. The bearing assembly is mounted coaxially with the axis of rotation of the wheel so that the arm remains stationary as the wheel rotates. In addition, the scraper blade remains in contact with the wheel as the wheel is moved in vertical and fore-and-aft directions.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1993Date of Patent: July 11, 1995Assignee: Montezuma Welding & Mfg., Inc.Inventor: LaVern D.
