Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for processing biological materials, comprising a platform having a plurality of sample receiving areas located thereon, each sample receiving area being substantially enclosed in a holding means, the apparatus also having at least one liquid carrier member mounted for supplying liquid to and/or removing liquid from the sample receiving area, and the platform and liquid carrier member being movable relative to one another so as to move sequential sample receiving areas into orientation with the liquid carrier member. The present invention is particularly suited to processing biological material (and in particular cell suspensions) for cytogenetic analysis.

Abstract: An apparatus for processing biological materials, the apparatus comprising a plurality of stacked, rotatable platforms, each platform having a plurality of sample receiving areas located thereon. The apparatus has a first dispensing member mounted for dispensing reagent and/or a sample to a sample receiving area on a first stacked platform and a second dispensing member mounted for dispensing reagent and/or a sample to a sample receiving area on a second stacked platform. Each platform is rotatable to move sequential sample receiving areas into orientation with the mounted reagent dispensing member to receive reagent therefrom.
