  • Publication number: 20090212250
Abstract: A lockout valve operable to control fluid between two components is provided. The lockout valve includes a housing having a flow passage, an intake port, an outtake port, and an exhaust port selectively in communication with the flow passage. The lockout valve further includes a slide slidably mounted to the housing between an open position and a closed position. The slide includes a vent disposed and a through port extending through the slide. When the slide is in the open position, the through port is disposed between the intake port and the outtake port, providing a passage for fluid. When the slide is in the closed position, the vent is fittingly disposed between the intake port and the outtake port so as to prevent fluid from flowing downstream the lockout valve and to allow fluid pressure downstream the lockout valve to escape through the exhaust port.

  • Patent number: 6896301
Abstract: A clamp assembly is provided for interconnecting components in a fluid system. The clamp assembly includes two interconnected clamp members each having a C-shape that form a channel, and a spacer disposed within the channel having a centrally located bore defining a part of a central passageway for the transmission of a fluid. The clamp assembly also includes at least one port member disposed in the clamp member channel adjacent the spacer having a center portion with a clamping portion at one end of the center portion and a connecting portion at the opposite end and a longitudinally extending bore defining part of a central passageway for the transmission of the fluid. The port member includes a flange extending radially from the port member clamping portion having a predetermined shape corresponding to that of the clamp member channel. A plurality of clamping forces from the clamp members are directed radially inwards from points of contact between the flange and the clamp members to provide cross loading.

  • Patent number: 6893002
Abstract: A lockout valve is provided having a valve body with an inlet conduit, a central chamber and an outlet conduit, to form a continuous passageway. The lockout valve also includes a slide mechanism slidingly disposed in valve slide channel to operatively control fluid flow through the passageway between an open position, an intermediate position and a closed position. The slide mechanism includes a plurality of flow apertures to restrict flow through the passageway. The front side of the slide mechanism includes a detent slot and the back side of the slide mechanism includes a longitudinally extending override slot having an upper portion positioned opposite the detent slot to form a continuous opening, and a lower portion that does not form a continuous opening. The valve further includes a detent mechanism for overriding the intermediate position of the slide mechanism including a detent override lever with a finger member extending from an edge of the detent override lever.

  • Patent number: 5725071
Abstract: A system to selectively lubricate and to continuously supply a forced air flow onto a machine cutting tool has a control valve to selectively communicate an air supply with a pulse generator which drives at least one liquid pump to control the discharge of liquid lubricant from the liquid pump into a continuous forced air flow from the air supply to discharge onto the cutting tool through a nozzle atomized lubricant and cooling air during machining and thereafter only forced air to evaporate and blow off the lubricant from the cutting tool and workpiece, to remove any residual material and chips of the machining operation from the cutting tool and to cool the cutting tool. To minimize the amount of liquid lubricant used by the system and the quantity of used lubricant which must be disposed of, the control valve allows air to flow from the air supply to the pulse generator only during machining when it is necessary to lubricate the cutting tool.
