  • Patent number: 5246456
Abstract: A human stomach-shaped pouch is provided including a closed fundus and an open antrum as well as major and minor curvatures extending between the fundus and the antrum. The minor curvature includes an esophageal opening closely adjacent the fundus and the pouch includes a slot extending along the inner curvature and communicating the esophageal opening and the open antrum, the pouch being constructed of high performance silicone elastomer, 30 durometer, and including "DACRON" tricot knit (DuPont D116) imbedded in the margins of the pouch extending along the inner curvature slot. Also, an annular collar provided with a radial slit is provided also constructed of silicone elastomer and is secured to the outer surface of the pouch about the esophageal opening with the slot thereof registered with the slot of the pouch. The pouch is constructed with smooth inner and outer surfaces throughout and is provided with small openings formed therethrough at points spaced apart thereover.

  • Patent number: 4686727
Abstract: A convenience bar assembly for a hospital bed includes a generally U-shaped member including two arms adapted for generally vertical orientation and a horizontal cross-member connecting the arms. The lowermost ends of the arms of the U-shaped member are attached to opposite sides of a bed so that the horizontal member is oriented over the bed transversely. A horizontal support bar is swingably connected to the horizontal cross-member so that the horizontal support bar hangs below the horizontal cross member when the horizontal support bar is at rest.

  • Patent number: 4403604
Abstract: A generally rectangular flexible wrap panel having longitudinally spaced inwardly tapering and outwardly opening opposite side marginal notches formed therein intermediate its opposite ends is provided and the outer margin of a radially split annular flexible yoke panel is secured across one end of the wrap panel. Opposing edges of the wrap panel defining the notches are then overlapped and secured together to form darts in the wrap panel and the wrap panel is placed along the greater curvature of the stomach with the collar panel registered with the esophagogastric junction. The side marginal edges of the wrap panel are then wrapped about the stomach toward the lesser curvature, overlapped and sutured together and the circumferential ends of the yoke panel are overlapped and sutured together about the esophagogastric junction and the end edges of the collar panel are sutured together about the esophagus.

  • Patent number: 4364394
Abstract: An elongated flexible tube structure is provided defining a plurality of individual passages extending longitudinally therethrough. The passages include an air vent passage, a suction passage and a fluid injection passage and the passages include first end portions opening separately outwardly of one end portion of the tube structure. The other end portion of the tube structure defines an outer tubular jacket enclosing and defining the second end portion of the air vent passage. The second end portion of the injection and suction passages are defined by separate tube sections disposed in and extending longitudinally of the tubular jacket. The end of the tubular jacket remote from the aforementioned one end portion thereof has the corresponding end of the suction tube section anchored therein and the latter includes lateral suction openings formed therein opening outwardly into the interior of the tubular jacket.
