Publication number: 20150260308Abstract: A directional control valve assembly includes a fluid control valve having a valve element defining a longitudinal axis along which the valve element is translatable. The valve element is cooperative with one or more fluid passages to define fluid pathways to and from the fluid control valve. A housing is secured to the fluid control valve and positioned to receive a portion of a connecting member coupled to the valve element. A handle is pivotally connected to the housing and operatively coupled to the connecting member such that rotation of the handle causes translation of the valve element within the fluid control valve. The handle is movable from a locked position to an unlocked position permitting handle rotation. The handle is not biased by a spring into the locked position.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2013Publication date: September 17, 2015Applicant: 1953 Mercer RoadInventors: Lawrence J. Fry, David Biddle, Adi Peshkess

Patent number: 9120492Abstract: A control valve assembly for a load carrying vehicle that includes a dumping mechanism. The control valve assembly including a housing, a valve, and a biasing device. The valve is movable between a dumping position, and a closing position. The biasing device including a biasing device housing and a piston moveable between a first piston position and a second piston position relative to the biasing device housing. A biasing element is arranged between the biasing device housing and the piston to bias the piston toward the first piston position. The biasing device directly contacts the valve when in the first piston position to inhibit movement of the valve, and the biasing element is calibrated to allow the piston to move to the second piston position when air provided by an air compressor reaches a predetermined pressure, thereby not inhibiting movement of the valve.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2012Date of Patent: September 1, 2015Assignee: Aventics CorporationInventors: Lawrence J. Patent number: 8267120Abstract: A control valve assembly is provided for a load carrying vehicle that includes a storage space and a dumping mechanism. The control valve assembly includes a housing and a sliding valve positioned within the housing and movable between a first position, and a second position. The sliding valve includes a first piston that defines a first piston first surface and a first piston second surface, and a second piston that defines a second piston first surface and a second piston second surface. The first piston second surface faces the second piston first surface. A pilot system includes a first pilot passage in fluid communication with the first piston second surface to selectively actuate the sliding valve toward the first position, and a second pilot passage in fluid communication with the second piston first surface to selectively actuate the sliding valve toward the second position.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2011Date of Patent: September 18, 2012Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Lawrence J. Fry, Joseph W. Lehmann, Michael P. Haskin, Gregory W. Peterson

Patent number: 7980269Abstract: A control valve assembly for a load carrying vehicle that includes a storage space and a dumping mechanism that is movable between an open position that allows access to the storage space and a closed position that inhibits access to the storage space. The control valve assembly includes a housing and a valve that is positioned within the housing and is movable between a first position, wherein the dumping mechanism is moved toward the open position, and a second position, wherein the dumping mechanism is moved toward the closed position. First, second, and third actuation systems are in communication with the valve and are operable to actuate the valve between the first position and the second position.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2008Date of Patent: July 19, 2011Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Lawrence J.
