  • Patent number: 4813014
Abstract: A method and apparatus for rapid access digital storage and playback of audio information that consists of a large array of solid state random access memory devices connected in a basic multi-group, multi-card, multi-unit configuration that is addressable in one second increments for a selected duration. Storage or playback with requisite signal conversion may be effected by inputting real time decimal address indications to select a designated time and duration of the total memory capacity.

  • Patent number: 4636880
Abstract: A programmable annunciator device for periodic fade-in of specific message segments in a continuous broadcast or background audio. The device utilizes a tape cassette and transport with reel turns count circuitry providing tape position data. The cassette is programmed to include two tracks of successive messages of preselected time length, each identifiable by reel turns count. The reel turns count for each message position is stored in read only memory while random access memory is programmed to include code identifier and address data for each message position. In program mode, the desired audio is recorded at each message position for selective playback. In operate mode, an interval timer initiates playback of the selected messages in sequence and timing as selected by the operator.

  • Patent number: 4155033
Abstract: A drive system for tape transducer capstan drive control for synchronously controlling capstan drive over a wide speed range, the system being a phase locked loop which encompasses the motor, all drive components, and the capstan. The capstan drive to a tape record receives rotation from a capstan drive motor which also provides a rotational sense output. A control circuit receives the sense output as well as a selected reference frequency signal and processes the signals in accordance with selected binary control input thereby to generate the requisite drive voltage for energization of the capstan drive motor.
