  • Patent number: 4865478
Abstract: A retractable pin sprocket drive for feeding paper employs free floating, radially moving, cam actuated sprocket pins in axially spaced sprocket hubs forming sprocket wheels. The pins are slidably fitted in equally angularly spaced radial slots in each sprocket hub. The sprocket wheels are each journalled in a sprocket wheel housing and the sprocket pins are moved radially only by a stationary cam track in each sprocket housing as the sprocket wheels rotate. Insertion of paper having perforated edges is facilitated by means providing for the precise axial spacing of the sprocket wheels and angular positioning of the sprocket wheels and pins in relation to the perforations or holes along the edges of the paper, together with transparent sprocket wheel housings and openings therethrough permitting viewing of the sprocket pins and the holes in the paper as they come together, to permit precise sprocket pin insertion into the holes in the paper.

  • Patent number: 4806106
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and apparatus for interconnecting a flexible (flex) circuit, printed circuit or the like to an ink jet printhead or other similar electronic device. This approach includes providing a flexible lead frame member between the flex circuit and printhead, with the lead frame member having a plurality of conductive leads or fingers extending at a predetermined angle with respect to the final plane of interconnection. During the interconnection process, these leads or fingers are spring biased through this predetermined angle to provide good compressive electrical contact between the two members interconnected by the lead frame in a single plane of interconnection.

  • Patent number: 4477981
Abstract: A simulator for simulating on a test sheet the actions of a dryer section of a paper making machine. The simulator includes a closed chamber to which there is connected a temperature and humidity control system to maintain the chamber in constant temperature and humidity during a test. A dryer fabric web is mounted within the chamber and is so guided as to have two parallel runs thereof in closely spaced relation. A holder is provided for mounting a test sheet between the two runs. Dryers are mounted above and below the two runs. The dryer fabric has openings therein which are selectively positioned in centered relation along the two runs so that the upper dryer may pass through an upper opening, pick up a test sheet and press the same against the dryer fabric of the lower run.
