Abstract: A computer implemented method and an interactive content overlay and streaming system (ICOSS) for overlaying user media content (UMC) on content data streams (CDSs) and synchronizing the CDSs in real time with the UMC are provided. The ICOSS renders an interactive space editor with content panels on a graphical user interface on a user device. The ICOSS receives a selection of the CDSs and records the UMC while streaming the selected CDSs. The ICOSS records content panel events and synchronization data and generates a content media object. When viewer devices access the content media object, the ICOSS overlays the UMC and an interaction panel on the CDSs. The ICOSS streams the CDSs and the overlaid UMC, and displays comments entered in the interaction panel from the viewer devices. The ICOSS synchronizes the CDSs being streamed in real time with the UMC using the content panel events and the synchronization data.

Abstract: A computer implemented method and system simultaneously distributes content data streams (CDSs) of multiple content formats, for example, live cable television content, gaming content, social media content, user generated content, etc., to one or more computing devices. An interactive content distribution platform (ICDP) receives user selections of the CDSs and the content formats via a graphical user interface (GUI) and receives one or more CDSs in one or more content formats from multiple content sources based on the user selections. The ICDP synchronizes the CDSs by encoding the CDSs into a common data format and adjusting a transmission rate of the CDSs. The ICDP simultaneously transmits and displays the synchronized CDSs in one or more configurable windows on a display screen of each computing device at configurable time instances via the GUI. The ICDP facilitates interactions and initiates transactions between computing devices during the simultaneous display of the synchronized CDSs.
