  • Patent number: 11947780
Abstract: A method at an electronic device with a display includes: displaying a user interface having a first region and a second region; receiving, and displaying in the first region of the user interface, a live video stream of a physical environment captured by a remote video camera; displaying, in the second region, a timeline corresponding to a timespan for a first portion of a duration during which the live video stream may have been recorded; in response to receiving a user interaction to move the timespan to a second portion of the duration, transitioning the displayed timeline to a new timeline that corresponds to the timespan for the second portion, and while transitioning, displaying, in the first region, a subset of video frames representing the first and/or second portion of the duration.

  • Patent number: 11899491
Abstract: The system and method generates a pulse or a signal that is transmitted between a central processing unit or processor and an Ethernet integrated circuit card to program a trigger generator in the IC. The pulse is effectively a 1PPS signal that is provided to the IC, which may be in the form a field programmable gate array to enable timing synchronization. The trigger in the IC may also generates an interrupt to the processor so a driver in the CPU is instructed to set the next trigger. For the trigger to be accurately controlled, the control routine is implemented in the driver existing in kernel space rather than user space. A routine or protocol periodically polls the interrupt to determine when the trigger must be reset.

  • Patent number: 11625898
Abstract: Techniques and devices for holding and releasing virtual objects on a display based on input received from one or more handheld controllers are described herein. In some instances, a handheld controller includes one or more sensors, such as proximity sensors, force sensors (e.g., force resisting sensors, etc.), accelerometers, and/or other types of sensors configured to receive input from a hand of a user gripping the handheld controller. Hardware, software, and/or firmware on the controller and/or on a device coupled to the controller (e.g., a game console, a server, etc.) may receive data from these sensors and generate a representation of a corresponding gesture on a display, such as a monitor, a virtual-reality system, and/or the like.

  • Patent number: 11465041
Abstract: A force sensing resistor (FSR) that is constructed with a first substrate made of polyimide disposed underneath a second substrate that is resistive and flexible. A handheld controller for an electronic system may include the FSR having a first substrate made of polyimide. The FSR may be mounted on a planar surface of a structure within the controller body, such as a structure mounted within a handle of the controller body, and/or a structure that is mounted underneath at least one thumb-operated control that is included on a head of the controller body. The FSR may be configured to measure a resistance value that corresponds to an amount of force applied to an outer surface of the handle and/or an amount of force applied to the at least one thumb-operated control.

  • Patent number: 11294485
Abstract: Logic of a handheld controller can implement sensor fusion algorithms based on force data provided by a force sensing resistor (FSR) in combination with touch data or proximity data provided by a touch sensor or an array of proximity sensors, respectively. An example sensor fusion algorithm can be used to re-calibrate the FSR when an object contacts an associated control, as detected by the touch sensor. Another example sensor fusion algorithm can be used to ignore spurious inputs detected by the FSR when an object is in contact with an adjacent control. Another example sensor fusion algorithm can be used to detect a hand size of a hand grasping a handle of the controller, as detected by the array of proximity sensors, and to adjust the threshold force to register a FSR input event at the FSR according to the hand size.

  • Publication number: 20220058935
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a system and method for providing an output for an electronic device. In certain embodiments, an alert is output in accordance with a current alert mode, which are selected based on one or more environmental conditions. The environmental conditions may be detected using one or more environmental sensors. The alert can optionally include one or more of: an audio component, a haptic component and a visual component. One or more of alert components correspond to an aspect of the environmental condition detected by the one or more environmental sensors.

  • Publication number: 20220040566
Abstract: Techniques and devices for determining how to present the release of the virtual object based at least in part on received sensor data is described herein. For example, when the hardware and/or software determines that the virtual object is to be released, the hardware and/or software may calculate one or more of a velocity of the object (e.g., speed and direction), a position at which the virtual object is to be released, a trajectory of the virtual object from the position of release to the landing point of the virtual object, a landing location of the virtual object, and/or the like. The hardware and/or software may then present the virtual object being released according to this determined information.

  • Publication number: 20220035522
Abstract: An example method occurring at a device with a touch-sensitive display. The method includes that while displaying a first user interface of a first application on the touch-sensitive display, the device receives a gesture at the touch-sensitive display. The method includes that in response to receiving the gesture on the touch-sensitive display and in accordance with a determination that the gesture is from an edge region of the touch-sensitive display, the device ceases to display the first user interface of the first application and displaying a second user interface of a second application that is different from the first application. The method also includes that in response to receiving the gesture on the touch-sensitive display and in accordance with a determination that the gesture begins at a non-edge region of the touch-sensitive display, the device performs an operation within the first application while continuing to display the first user interface.

  • Patent number: 11068855
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for creating a new appointment for an electronic calendar. The method receives a set of proposed attendees for the new appointment. The method retrieves and analyzes calendars of the proposed attendees. The method proposes a time for the new appointment at which all proposed attendees, including an organizer of the appointment, are available to attend the new appointment. In some embodiments, the proposed time is an earliest future time at which all proposed attendees are available to attend the new appointment. In some embodiments, the method also proposes a second time for the new appointment at which a subset of the proposed attendees are available to attend the new appointment.
