  • Patent number: 5509696
Abstract: An adapter for connecting one size of nozzle with a blower tip of varying sizes has a plurality of springs spaced there around. Each spring has straight portions resiliently urged towards the blower tip. At the entrance end of the adapter, the springs are sloped or tapered so the blower tip will gradually flex the springs towards the wall of the adapter. The springs may be solid, like leaf springs, or may be formed of wire; and, the springs may be made of polymeric material, metal or other elastic materials. In other embodiments, the springs may be fixed to the male member for receiving a female member thereon; and, the male or female member may have a slope rather than the springs. The spring members may have two straight portions parallel to each other, or only one straight portion.

  • Patent number: 5333787
Abstract: A nozzle for providing an oscillating fluid stream has a stationary segment, and at least one oscillating segment pivoted to the stationary segment. In one embodiment, the fluid stream impinges on an inwardly turned lip on the oscillating segment to drive the oscillation. In other embodiments, the reaction of the fluid discharge assists in driving the oscillation of the nozzle, with or without assistance of the inwardly turned lip. For high pressure systems, including the use of liquids, the segments may be more massive to redirect the fluid stream. For compact systems, the plural segments may be completely housed within the stationary segment.

  • Patent number: 5297379
Abstract: A walk-behind power driven lawn mower having a front wheel steering system including a control mounted on the mower handle and a linkage system interconnecting the control and the front wheels of the mower so that in operation the mower may be steered to the right or left by the operator as the grass cutting operation proceeds. The control includes a lever for controlling the drive transmission to the rear wheels. Also disclosed is a locking tab attached to a pivoting wheel drive actuation handle which lockingly engages an operator presence bar in engagement when said wheel drive actuation handle is in engagement.

  • Patent number: 4005491
Abstract: An announcing system including a message drum with a plurality of listening-recording heads radially spaced around the message drum, each of the listening-recording heads being adapted to traverse a portion of the surface of the message drum, and each of the listening-recording heads having an erase head associated therewith. A master timer is provided, and synchronizing means associated with the message drum provides a synchronizing pulse to maintain proper relationship between the master timer and rotation of the message drum. A control circuit allows a recording station to be selectively connected to the listening-recording heads for recording a message on a message track of the message drum and a subscriber station to be selectively connected to the listening-recording heads for listening to a message that has been recorded on the message drum.
