  • Publication number: 20240175848
Abstract: An acoustic sand monitor system includes an exciter assembly and a receiver that are configured to be coupled to an accumulator vessel. Separating equipment separates sand from a fluid stream produced by a well. The accumulator vessel collects the sand separated from the fluid stream. The exciter assembly causes vibrations of the accumulator vessel and the receiver measures audio signals generated by the vibrations of the accumulator vessel. A control system analyzes the audio signal to determine the amount of sand collected in the accumulator vessel.

  • Publication number: 20220136341
Abstract: A coated pipe to transmit produced fluids in a system configured to recover hydrocarbons from a subterranean formation may include a pipe component configured to transmit the produced fluids and having an internal surface defining an inner diameter of the pipe component; and a coating deposited on the internal surface of the pipe component and configured to extend the life of the pipe component by mitigating erosion caused by the produced fluids during transmission thereof.

  • Patent number: 9664666
Abstract: A test apparatus for qualifying compositions used to reduce scale deposition in fluid, e.g., wax deposition in crude oil, is disclosed. The test apparatus includes a first reservoir capable of holding a first fluid, and a second rotatable reservoir disposed within the first reservoir, the second reservoir capable of holding a second fluid. The apparatus includes a fluid inlet through which the second fluid enters the second reservoir, and a fluid outlet through which the second fluid exits the second reservoir, wherein a bottom surface of the second rotatable reservoir is configured to be at least partially submerged in the first fluid so that precipitate from the first fluid can be deposited thereon.

  • Publication number: 20170087497
Abstract: Disclosed are an inlet distributor device and its use in a separation vessel for separating liquid and gas. The separation vessel also includes a mist elimination device for removing vapor droplets. The inlet distributor device includes a distributor body of a rigid material having a partially enclosed three-dimensional shape, a distributor inlet adapted to be fitted to the vessel inlet such that the distributor body is positioned internally within the vessel, and a mesh material within the volume of the distributor body. Also disclosed is a method for designing the inlet distributor device. A mesh file representing the separation vessel, the mist elimination device and the inlet distributor device is generated using estimated design parameters of the separation vessel and estimated coordinates defining the distributor body.

  • Publication number: 20160158770
Abstract: A gas flow directing device to provide uniform gas flow into or out of a vessel having molecular sieve material contained therein and methods for treating a gas streams in the vessel using the gas flow directing device are described. The gas flow directing device includes a truncated cone having a cone base having an opening centered therein and a truncated top. The truncated cone further includes a gas permeable wall portion between the cone base and the truncated top having open sides to provide fluid communication between the opening in the cone base and space surrounding the gas permeable wall portion.

  • Publication number: 20150302138
Abstract: A vessel for dehydrating a natural gas stream using molecular sieve material contained therein and a method for designing such a vessel are described. The vessel includes cylindrical vessel walls having a plurality of thermally conductive plates attached to the inner surface thereof. The plurality of thermally conductive plates are distributed vertically and circumferentially through the cylindrical portion of the vessel. The dimensions of the thermally conductive plates can be determined using computational fluid dynamics analysis of a process for regenerating the molecular sieve material. It is possible to reduce the duration of operation in regeneration mode using the vessel of the present disclosure.
