    Abstract: A foodstuff containment and toy apparatus includes a hollow tube having a first opening at a first axial end of the tube, a second opening at a second axial end of the tube, and a length defined between the first and second axial ends. The first and second openings access an interior lumen of the tube. A first removable cover spans the first opening. A second removable cover spans the second opening. A foodstuff is disposed within the interior lumen of the tube and between the first and second removable covers. The tube includes a weighted portion proximate the first axial end such that a center of mass of the tube, without the first and second removable covers and the foodstuff, is located approximately within one-third of the length of the tube nearest the first opening.

    Abstract: A process for the selective metallization of a substrate and the product formed thereby. An extremely thin (substantially less than the wavelength of light) coat of metallic particles is deposited on a transfer agent. A thin coat of varnish is selectively applied to either the substrate or the transfer agent, the substrate and the transfer agent are laminated together and the varnish is cured. The metallic particles will become absorbed within the varnish and the substrate and transfer agent are then separated. The substrate is provided with a highly polished specular metallic finish in predetermined areas.

    Abstract: A valuable document is protected from counterfeiting by applying an extremely thin layer of metal to the document at predetermined locations. The thin layers of metal form a "ghost image" which changes in appearance as the angle of view is varied, making the valuable document easily recognizable by a lay observer. The portions of the valuable document covered by the thin layers of metal reflect ultra-violet and infra-red light making a photocopy of the valuable document strikingly different in appearance than the original document. Counterfeiting the document by any method is extremely difficult as the process of applying the thin layers of metal is one of high technology, not readily available to the public.
