  • Publication number: 20080091602
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for conducting electronic commerce such as a virtual purchase transaction with an on-line merchant. A user is provided with an intelligent token, such as a smart card containing a digital certificate. The intelligent token suitably authenticates with a wallet server on a network that conducts all or portions of the transaction on behalf of the user with out requiring changes to the merchant's server. The wallet server interacts with a security server of a selected financial service to provide authentication of the transaction. Upon authentication, the digital wallet pre-fills forms which are transmitted to the merchant who contacts the security server for validation of the forms and upon validation, completes the transaction with the user.

  • Publication number: 20060278704
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products are provided for enabling payment of transit system fees using a financial transaction instrument. Entry is permitted onto a transit system by recognition of information included in an identification number stored on a financial transaction instrument. The identification number stored on the financial transaction instrument is associated with a transit system fee registered for each use of the transit system. A plurality of transit system fees associated with the same identification number from use of the financial transaction instrument is aggregated, and payment for the aggregated transit system fees is requested from a transaction account associated with the financial transaction instrument.

  • Publication number: 20050071231
Abstract: A system and method for securing a Radio Frequency (RF) transaction using a RF identification device (RFID) transaction device is provided. The method includes a RFID transaction device including a random number generator for generating a random number. The random number may be used by an account issuer to verify the validity of a RFID transaction device or RFID reader communicating on the RF transactions network. The authorizing agent may receive the random number and compare the random number to a device validating code.

  • Publication number: 20050040242
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing an transparent or translucent transaction device having multiple features, such as a holographic foil, integrated circuit chip, RFID circuitry, silver magnetic stripe with text on the magnetic stripe, opacity gradient, an invisible optically recognizable compound, a translucent signature field such that the RFID circuitry and signature on back of the device is visible through the device body. The invisible optically recognizable compound is an infrared ink and/or film, which can be detected by a sensor found in an ATM or device manufacturing assembly line.

  • Publication number: 20050033686
Abstract: A system and method for securing a Radio Frequency (RF) transaction using a proxy code, which is permanently assigned to the RF identification device (RFID) transaction account number. An account issuer permanently assigns the proxy code to a transaction account correlated to the RFID transaction device. The proxy code is uploaded onto the transaction device for later use in completing a transaction request. During transaction completion, the proxy code is provided to a merchant system in lieu of any sensitive transaction account information. Since the proxy code is permanently assigned, the number need not be changed or updated once uploaded into a payment device or merchant system. Since the proxy code contains no sensitive information, the sensitive information related to the transaction account is secured from theft where the merchant system internal security measures may fail.

  • Publication number: 20050033688
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a smartcard system are provided which securely and conveniently provides for secure transaction completion in a contact or contactless environment. The invention utilizes selection of processing applications based on the account issuer parameters and risk factors (stored on a smartcard) and merchant system parameters and risk factors (stored on a merchant system database). The invention permits a merchant system and smartcard to exchange information useful for determining if particular transactions should be completed online or offline.
