  • Patent number: 11947279
Abstract: A system for sensing material within a container includes a container having a reservoir for storing material and an impact member configured to selectively impart an impulse force on the container to cause vibration of the container. A sensor is configured to sense the vibration of the container upon the impact member imparting the impulse force on the container. Processing circuitry in communication with the sensor is configured to determine an estimate of an amount of the material in the container based on the sensed vibration of the container.

  • Patent number: 11947282
Abstract: A system for an electrophotographic image forming device includes a toner container having a reservoir for storing toner and an impact member configured to selectively impart an impulse force on the toner container to cause vibration of the toner container. A sensor is configured to sense the vibration of the toner container upon the impact member imparting the impulse force on the toner container. Processing circuitry in communication with the sensor is configured to determine an estimate of an amount of toner in the reservoir based on the sensed vibration of the toner container.

  • Patent number: 8866112
Abstract: A protective shield is provided for protecting the skin on a digit, such as a finger or a toe of a person, from UV radiation. The protective shield includes a longitudinal shield body that extends from a first end to a second end of the shield body, the shield body being formed of a flexible UV resistant sheet material that is sized to substantially cover the skin on the back of the digit. The first end of the shield body has a notched portion for exposing the nail of the digit and also includes a means of securing the shield body to the digit, for example a gel or an adhesive tape.

  • Publication number: 20090199684
Abstract: The Metal Lathe, Core Drill Adaptor and Rate of Cut Device are simple lathing and drilling devices including a device that restricts the advancement of the drilling and lathing motions. These devices are attached to a most any common standard upright drilling machine in a secure method to allow a person with little or no experience to operate these devices.

  • Patent number: 6241591
Abstract: In one embodiment, a polishing apparatus (10) includes a retaining ring (12), a pressure ring (16), a first seal (18), and a second seal (20). The retaining ring (12) is movably attached to the pressure ring (16) to create a uniform pressure distribution across the retaining ring (12). In addition a positive fluid pressure is applied to the first seal (18) and the second seal (20) to create the uniform pressure distribution across the retaining ring (12). The uniform pressure distribution across the retaining ring (16) allows a semiconductor substrate (51), polished with the polishing apparatus (10), to have a reduced edge exclusion, and thus increased die yield.
