Abstract: A method and system provides a graphical user interface for instant messaging on any of a plurality of instant messaging networks. The interface provides a roster of contacts in each instant messaging network. Instant messages entered through the interface are machine translated into a preferred language for each intended recipient contact. The translated message is sent over the respective instant messaging networks of the intended recipient contacts. Response messages are translated into the source language of the user of the graphical user interface.

Abstract: A remotely controllable security system has a number of physical security devices, such as electronic door locks, closed circuit TV cameras, motion detector, etc. Control and monitoring software running on a server is coupled to each of the physical security devices and monitors and stores events. In addition, streaming data can be saved and viewed from cameras and other devices. A mobile computing device is capable of communicating with the server or directly over a wireless channel to the physical security devices. The mobile computing device can view streaming data from the cameras.

Abstract: Means that allow multiple users to be authorized to authenticate through a single given mobile device are described. These means apply as well for the case that the number of users is so large the device does not store all of their authentication information in memory simultaneously. These means allow the authentication information to be securely transferred from a server to the device at the time that the user attempts to authenticate. The device utilizes means and methods that allow this information to be cached to speed up communication during periods when only a few users use the single device.
