  • Patent number: 5154364
Abstract: A grinding clearance adjustment device for milling roller frames is disclosed, in which a casing contains two grinding rollers, one of which is constructed as a pivotable loose roller. Adjustment members, for the rollers are provided, as well as a device for the automatic setting of the grinding clearance by means of a remotely controllable drive motor, the latter being coupled to the adjustment members via transmission means. The motor operates through a clutch. In the preferred embodiment, the adjustment members are constructed as a first closed standard component, which has a lever-transmitted setting part with a longer and a shorter lever arm and which is laterally positioned in the vicinity of the grinding rollers. The drive motor and clutch are constructed as a second closed standard component, which is spaced from the first standard component, and the adjustment forces derived from the drive motor are coupled to the longer lever arm of setting part.

  • Patent number: 4442980
Abstract: The invention describes a new type of automation for a roller carriage. The amount of product conveyed to the roller carriage is constantly subject to fluctuations, and is determined by a mechanical probe. A corresponding signal directly activates a pneumatic valve, and control pressure adjusts the instantaneous performance of the grinding rolls. The pneumatic valve has a so-called zero position, and becomes a follower control device by means of servo-media and the adjusting mechanism of the performance-dependent elements in the roller carriage. At the same time, the control pressure in the pneumatic valve can start and stop the grinding rolls.

  • Patent number: 4339083
Abstract: Apparatus for grinding cereal grain involving the controlling of grinding forces between a pair of cooperating grinding rolls, by determining the actual grain receiving gap between the rolls during rotation thereof and regulating the gap in accordance with a preset desired dimension. A pair of parallel grinding rolls are mounted for movement of one roll relative to the other in a generally radial direction. One of the rolls is yieldingly biased toward engagement with the other roll. Adjustment mechanism is operative to limit movement of the bias roll toward said other roll and to establish said preset dimension or gap between the rolls.
