Abstract: Disclosed is a computer implemented method and related system to improve the efficiency of querying remote databases. The method includes receiving, from a host, a query, wherein the query is configured to retrieve a set of data from a remote database. The method also includes, generating an access plan, the access plan comprising a plurality of nodes wherein each node of the plurality of nodes includes a command. The method further includes determining capabilities of the remote database. The method includes executing the query and returning the set of data to the host.

Abstract: Implementations of the subject matter described herein provide a solution that enables a machine to automatically generate a melody. In this solution, user emotion and/or environment information is used to select a first melody feature parameter from a plurality of melody feature parameters, wherein each of the plurality of melody feature parameters corresponds to a music style of one of a plurality of reference melodies. The first melody feature parameter is further used to generate a first melody that conforms to the music style and is different from the reference melody. Thus, a melody that matches user emotions and/or environmental information may be automatically created.

Abstract: In embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided a method of generating a slide for presentation. Upon a target passage for presentation is obtained, a plurality of sentences are generated based on the target passage, and a label associated with each sentence and an icon corresponding to each label are determined. Then, the sentences, labels and icons are displayed in association in a user interface of an application for presentation. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the illustrated slides can be automatically generated for a passage to be presented, which can improve efficiency of slide making and improve user experience for slide presentation.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a display panel, including: an array substrate, a light-emitting layer, a touch panel, a first flexible circuit board, and a second flexible circuit board. The array substrate includes a display region and an edge-bonding region configured on an edge of the display region. The light-emitting layer is stacked on the display region. The first flexible circuit board joins to the edge-bonding region. The touch panel is stacked on one side of the light-emitting layer facing away the array substrate. The second flexible circuit board is flexibly connected between the touch panel and the edge-bonding region. The edge-bonding region includes a first conductive lead. The second flexible circuit board connects to the first flexible circuit board via the first conductive lead. As such, the internal configuration and the small-sized design of the display device may be facilitated, and may improve user experience.

The rare-earth halide scintillating material has a chemical formula of REaCebX3, wherein RE is a rare-earth element La, Gd, Lu or Y, X is one or two of halogens Cl, Br and I, 0?a?1.1, 0.01?b?1.1, and 1.0001?a+b?1.2. By taking a +2 valent rare-earth halide having the same composition as a dopant to replace a heterogeneous alkaline earth metal halide in the prior art for doping, the rare-earth halide scintillating material is relatively short of a halogen ion. The apparent valence state of a rare-earth ion is between +2 and +3. The rare-earth halide scintillating material belongs to non-stoichiometric compounds, but still retains a crystal structure of an original stoichiometric compound, and has more excellent energy resolution and energy response linearity than the stoichiometric compound.

Abstract: A flexible display panel and a polyimide substrate thereof, and a method for fabricating the flexible display panel are disclosed. The flexible display panel includes a large panel composed of a glass carrier and a polyimide substrate adhering to the glass carrier and displaying effective regional assemblies adhering to the polyimide substrate. A glue layer is formed at the periphery of the displaying effective regional assemblies and formed on the polyimide substrate and used to reinforce the edge of the polyimide substrate after the large panel is cut into a display panel.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing a comments-centered news reader. Configurations allow live comments to be presented along with the news or similar website content. While a user scrolls up and down in a browser presenting a news article on the user's computer device (e.g., mobile device), linked comments are shown in a selected region. The displayed comments automatically change to adapt to what parts (paragraphs, sentences) of the news article that user is currently reading. At the same time, users can publish their own comments without having to proceed to a separate section of the browser, thus saving the viewer actions and improving the user's experience. The user's system or a remote server records the comments along with the article or the place users are in the article when the comment was entered.

When the surface of the oil tank is covered with ice or snow, the rain or snow can be effectively prevent from falling on the vent plug body and the driving safety of the train is ensured.
