  • Publication number: 20170187221
Abstract: A method of wirelessly charging batteries of devices includes detecting at least two devices being simultaneously present on a charging mat. It is determined, for each of the at least two devices, whether the device is compatible with a wireless charging standard. It is determined, for each of the two devices, whether the device is enabled for a near field communication. Charging of the devices is prevented if at least one of the devices is enabled for a near field communication but not compatible with the wireless charging standard.

  • Publication number: 20170179752
Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to methods, system and apparatus to optimize wireless charging by providing user notification when wireless charging efficiency is compromised. In an exemplary embodiment, the charging efficiency value of a device under charge (DUC) is calculated. When the charging efficiency value drops below a predefined threshold, the user is notified to relocate the DUC to a new location with respect to the Power Transmission Unit (PTU) to enhance charging efficiency. In another embodiment, a PTU charging efficiency map is generated to help guide the user for optimal wireless charging.

  • Publication number: 20170093175
Abstract: A disclosed example method to detect eligibility for wireless charging at a power transmitting unit involves receiving a measured charging pattern from a power receiving unit that is in communication with the power transmitting unit. When the measured charging pattern does not match a reference charging pattern used to modulate an electrical current at a transmitter resonator of the power transmitting unit, the power receiving unit is not eligible for wireless charging by the power transmitting unit. When the measured charging pattern does match the reference charging pattern, the power receiving unit is eligible for wireless charging by the power transmitting unit.

  • Patent number: 9514079
Abstract: An Adaptive Channel Selection (ACS) system is disclosed. A computing device uses wireless docking to provide a separate monitor and full-size input devices. The computing device requests docking, receives data wirelessly from the full-size input devices, and provides compressed video display data wirelessly for display on the separate monitor. An adaptive docking adapter receives and decodes compressed video display data and provides the decoded compressed video display data to a separate monitor for display. A wireless connection is disposed between the computing device and the adaptive docking adapter to provide wireless transmission of signals between the computing device and the adaptive docking adapter.
