Abstract: An activation and reporting mechanism for software in a mobile terminal allows the software to be activated by an end-user. In one implementation, a mobile terminal receives an indication that an end-user of the mobile terminal is attempting to use the software and gathers registration information from the end-user. The mobile terminal transmits the registration information and then activates the software.

Abstract: Management operations can be sent from a managing system to a number of managed systems over a management interface. Redundancy is provided through replicating a management operation in a first of managed systems and sending the operation to at least one further managed system. A method of replicating management operations is also provided according to which instance operations that correspond to a management operation are established. The method further includes, for each instance operation, examining if any replication conditions are given, and if such are fulfilled, replicating the operation and invoking it in a redundant system.

Abstract: External entity data access to the customer administrative system and database network elements of a telecommunications network is provided through a web-server and an Internet connection. The integrity and security of any stored data is protected through the use of a firewall implemented at the web-server. In one aspect, an interface is connected between the customer administrative system and database network elements and is also connected to the web-server to handle external entity requests by specifying not only which actions need to be taken but also routing the request to a proper destination. In a second aspect, the interface is by-passed with respect to the handling of external entity requests, with the web-server specifying the actions to be taken and routing the request to the proper destination.

Abstract: Methods create restoration log records in a restoration log in a computer system which includes software and hardware resources and a data base containing software representations of the resources, which can be exposed to operations from a process associated with the data system or from an operations system for the data system. A restoration log record shall reflect an updating of a resource representation performed from the process or from the operations system. For enabling conditional creation of a log record in the restoration log in case of an operation directed towards the resource representation, each resource representation is provided with logging information indicating whether an updating of the resource representation shall be logged in the restoration log.
