  • Patent number: 6685006
Abstract: A belt conveyor comprises an endless and closed conveyor belt (25) which is flexible essentially merely about axes which are parallel with the transverse direction of the belt (25), a tower (2; 70, 75); an inner arm (3; 64) supported by the tower (2; 70, 75); and an outer arm (6; 66) supported by the inner arm (3; 64) and positioned substantially in a vertical plane through the inner arm (3; 64). The conveyor belt (25) follows a path from the tower (2; 70; 75), via the inner arm (3; 64) and the outer arm (6; 66) to a distal end of the outer arm (6; 66) and back via the outer arm (6; 66) and the inner arm (3; 64) to the tower (2; 70; 75). Two first deflection rollers (10, 11; 65, 68) for the conveyor belt (25) are supported side by side at an intersection of the inner arm (3; 64) and the outer arm (6; 66) and has a common axis of rotation (12, 13) which is perpendicular to said vertical plane.

  • Patent number: 6021889
Abstract: A conveyor for an endless, closed-loop conveyor belt (1), which is flexible transverse to its extension, has a guide (11) keeping conveyor belt on a substantially rectilinear main path (3) and on a generally perpendicular branch. A branch device (9) is movable along the main path. There the belt takes two branch paths (19, 20), both parallel with a branch line (26) which is generally transverse to the main path. The branch device (9) comprises two first deflection rollers (14, 23), which are offset in opposite directions laterally from the main path (3). The axes of the two deflection rollers are each perpendicular to a respective deflection plane. Each deflection plance passes through the center of the respective deflection rollers and intersects the main path and the respective branch paths (19, 20) at respective distances from the deflection rollers.

  • Patent number: 5465830
Abstract: A conveyor for feeding out or feeding in goods within an elongated area comprises a tower (1) movable along a path located at a long side of the elongated area, an arm (4, 5) mounted on the tower and having a free end (6) extending into the area, and a feed-out device or a feed-in device (7) mounted at the free end of the arm. The conveyor further comprises an endless conveyor belt (10) which is closed but can be opened for feeding out or feeding in the goods. Belt guides (11-13, 16, 19) guide the conveyor belt from a first terminal point of the path, along this up to the tower, up along the tower and out along the arm to the feed-out device or the feed-in device, back along the arm and the tower down to the path, further along this to the second terminal point, and in a return path back to the first terminal point. A feed-in or feed-out station (20, 21) is provided at one of the terminal points or at a point along the return path.

  • Patent number: 5400899
Abstract: A belt conveyor comprises an endless conveyor belt (4) of the type surrounding the material conveyed and having a central part (5) and two edge parts (6, 7) connected thereto. The edge parts are substantially flexurally rigid in the transverse direction of the belt. The belt conveyor further comprises a frame having support rollers for carrying the belt along at least part of its path. The one edge part (6) of the belt (4) is divided into two portions closest to its free longitudinal edge so as to form a longitudinal pocket open towards the free longitudinal edge. The free edge portion of the other edge part (7) is received in the pocket so as to be substantially unable to rotate therein, and is forcedly retained owing to the connection of the edge parts to the central part.

  • Patent number: 5351810
Abstract: A conveyor belt, which is made of an elastic material, is made of a flat center piece which is flexurally rigid about the longitudinal axis of the belt owing to a transverse reinforcement and is but slightly extendible in the longitudinal direction owing to a longitudinal reinforcement; two flat edge pieces which are articulated to respective side edges of the center piece, are flexurally rigid about the longitudinal axis of the belt owing to a transverse reinforcement, are extendible in the longitudinal direction of the belt, and together have a width at least equal to the width of the center piece; and two link pieces which connect each respective edge piece with the center piece, are flexible about the longitudinal axis of the belt and extendible in the longitudinal direction of the belt, ar resilient to enable outward pivotal or folding movement of the edge pieces from a position in which the edge pieces are folded over the center piece, and have a width substantially smaller than that of the center piece

  • Patent number: 5060787
Abstract: A conveyor belt of elastic material comprises a planar central part, two planar edge parts, and two hinge parts. The central part is flexurally rigid about the longitudinal axis of the belt by virtue of a first and a second transverse reinforcement layer and has a low extensibility in the longitudinal direction by a longitudinal reinforcement. One of the two planar edge parts is hingedly connected with each side edge of the central part. Both edge parts are flexurally rigid about the longitudinal axis of the belt by virtue of the first and a third and a fourth transverse reinforcement layers, and are further extensible in the longitudinal direction of the belt and have a total width which is at least equal to the width of the central part. One of two hinge parts interconnect an edge part with the central part. The hinge parts are flexible about the longitudinal axis of the belt and extensible in the longitudinal direction of the belt.

  • Patent number: 5027943
Abstract: A belt conveyor comprises an endless conveyor belt (5) which has a bottom portion (6) provided on its underside with a central bead (7). The underside of the bead is formed with a groove (10) for receiving a carrying cable (11) at least along the major part of the goods conveying reach of the conveyor. The belt conveyor also comprises a plurality of pulleys (12) arranged below the carrying cable and adapted to directly support the carrying cable and further guide rollers (14, 15) arranged at least along the goods conveying reach and engaging the lateral surfaces of the bead (7). The width and the depth of the groove are such that the guide rollers are capable of transmitting lateral forces to the carrying cable (11). Moreover, the guide rollers make such contact with the lateral surfaces of the bead that the bead is substantially immobile in a vertical direction.

  • Patent number: 4793467
Abstract: A bulk material unloading apparatus comprises a vertical conveyor (10) and a horizontal conveyor connected thereto. A rotable feeder (13) is mounted at the feeding end of the vertical conveyor for feeding material thereinto. According to the invention, the apparatus also has a separately operable material supply device (23, 32) for the controlled supply of material to the feeder. The material supply device has a gimbal-mounted material draw-in device (32) which is universally tiltable relative to the axis of rotation of the feeder (13) and which preferably also is telescopically mounted in relation to the feeder.

  • Patent number: 4020953
Abstract: An apparatus for unloading particulate material, especially from ships, having an arm system comprising a horizontal conveyor section and a vertical conveyor section, which sections are interconnected in a torsionally rigid but pivotal manner for mutual relative movements in a common plane. The horizontal conveyor section is pivotally and swingably connected to a frame or foundation for raising and lowering of the horizontal conveyor section and for swinging of the complete arm system relative to the frame or foundation. In addition to being pivotally and swingably connected to the frame or foundation the horizontal conveyor section is tiltably connected thereto for inclination of the plane common to the vertical and horizontal conveyor sections relative to a vertical plane.
