  • Patent number: 5604953
Abstract: Vacuum cleaner including a unit, comprising an electric motor and an associated suction fan, and a suction nozzle (36) connected to the inlet side of the unit via a dust separating device (15), either directly or via a connectable rigid conduit (13). The vacuum cleaner comprises a handheld unit (10) which when not in use is arranged to be positioned on a stationary storage unit (11), said handheld unit (10) incorporating the said unit and the dust separating device (15) and being provided with a coupling means (12) for connecting of the rigid conduit (13). For power supply purposes, by means of an extensible flex (26), the handheld unit (10) is connected to the storage unit (11) which via an additional flex (39) is connectable to a mains outlet.

  • Patent number: 5493267
Abstract: An arrangement in an apparatus or a machine operated from the mains for the transfer of control commands to at least one working means (24) in the apparatus or machine, e.g. a motor or the like, via a wire (13) also used for the power supply to said working means. The arrangement comprises a control unit (10) provided for creating a control command by suppressing, in a predetermined order, at least part of one or several consecutive half-periods of a predetermined polarity of the supply voltage. Moreover, the arrangement comprises a slave unit (11) operating in response to the control command transmitted to activate the working means (24). The control unit (10) has such a design that before a control command is transmitted the control unit operates to shortly disconnect the supply voltage on the wire (13) for a period of time required for the current in the working means (24) to decline essentially to zero.

  • Patent number: 5471537
Abstract: A kitchen ventilator includes a housing (10) having a motor powered fan (20), an inlet (11), an inlet passage (25) between the inlet and the fan, an outlet (17), and an outlet passage (23) between the fan and the outlet, the passages are separated by a generally vertical partition wall (22). The inlet passage is partially formed by a baffle wall (26) provided between the inlet and the fan, and a removable front wall (16) provided with a sound absorbing material, and the outlet passage (23) has a narrowing portion (33) which is provided on both sides with sound absorbing material (18, 19).For reducing the noise level, the ventilator is provided with an acoustic sensor (28) for sensing the noise of the fan, a loudspeaker (30) for emitting a sound silencing the fan noise in reverse phase therewith, and an electronic control unit (29) connected to the sensor and the loudspeaker and adapted to control the loudspeaker in response to information received from said sensor.

  • Patent number: 5293654
Abstract: A shower assembly is disclosed having a spray nozzle (41) through which liquid flows into a shower cabinet (10). The shower has a collecting container (22) for the liquid, the nozzle and container being integrated with a circulation system including a pump (33) with which the liquid in the collecting container can be circulated through the nozzle (41). The shower also has a mechanism (18, 20) by which the liquid either can be directed to the container (22) or directly to a sewage (21).

  • Patent number: 5267516
Abstract: A method for transporting load units 10 on pallets 11 where each load unit is supported by a separate pallet. Two or several pallets with load units are, before transportation, placed close to each other and fixed to each other in order to form a combined load during transportation in which the pallets together form a unit to simplify handling of the combined load. A pallet for accomplishing the method described above is also described.

  • Patent number: 4991247
Abstract: According to a method of balancing a container (10) which is rotating about an essentially horizontal axis, preferably a washing machine drum, the container is provided with cavities (15) evenly distributed along the periphery thereof and having openings (20) via which selectively liquid can be introduced in the respective cavity. A sensor (24) is provided for sensing vibrations caused by the rotation of the container and for emitting an electrical signal the magnitude of which is a measure of the magnitude of the vibrations. The container (10) is brought to rotate at a first rotational speed and the sensor signal is read. A predetermined amount of liquid is introduced in a randomly selected cavity (15) along the periphery of the drum.
